Collectorz.com Movie Collector Pro v5.3.1-TE

TE group has released newest version of Movie Collector, a popular software for organizing your personal movie collection. I’m using it since version 4, and i bet when you try it, you’ll gonna like it! A must have! ;-)

Catalog your collection of movies and TV series on DVD. Including all movie data (genre, studio, release year, cast, crew, etc.), episode titles and all DVD details (cover images, subtitles, audio tracks, features, etc.).

Adding a DVD to your database is quick and easy, just type the movie title or scan its barcode. The program will then automatically download all data and images from our own online DVD database (currently containing 80 thousand movies and 100 thousand DVD editions). Other data sources include IMDb and Amazon.

Lists your movies in any order, either as list or in Image View. Group them in folders (e.g. by producer or genre). Use the Quick Search feature to find a movie in your database.

Browse your movie collection and start linked movie files directly.

Print a list of all movies or just a selection. Export lists to CSV, HTML or XML format (PRO only). Or export your list to the Notes section of your iPod and check it while in the DVD store (PRO only).

Always know who borrowed your DVDs and forgot to return them.

The Windows edition runs on Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Windows Vista, and is available in the following languages: English, Dutch, German, French, Turkish, Polish, Croatian, Italian, Slovenian, Swedish, Greek, Russian, Danish.

I tried the last version of this for 5 minutes and gave up after it didn’t seem to be able to scan a hard drive and list films.

Does anyone know if it could import a list created from something like Size Explorer Pro and make a movie list based upon that?
Or an alternative which reads hard drives and creates a library list from that?

  3. November 16th, 2007 | 08:43

    @ Wally

They can be any movie format – DVD, DivX, XviD, VCD, SVCD, you name it…

    Christian…thanks for the drop.

I just started using the previous version and I like it BUT not as much as I like DVD Profiler which was posted on rlslog.

Only problem is that DVD Profiler won’t stay registered.

I will upgrade to this new version to hold me over until I can get a stable keygen to work for DVD Profiler.

Hi GUys – I have an external Harddrive with built in XVID codec so I can play directly to my TV, My question is this….

Is there anyway I can link a XXXXX.avi file to XXXX.bmp file? I’d like to browse the film case covers and click on the picture to play the film rather than browse by title!

    Anyone any ideas??

Yea i got the previous release but after 100 movies/films it stops getting info about the films from collectorz.com etc etc… but if you change the info sources to Imdb, DVD Empire, DVD Shop & Atlantic DVD, you will still get all the info on each movie/film. Just incase this one runs out after 100 movies/films. Have to agree tho, one of the best cataloging apps ive seen/used yet!

Kicker for me is works with Vista, so I’m hoping they mean x64 Vista. Someone reffered me to Xtreme Movie Database or something before which I tried, but failed each time on x64, although it looked like it have everything I wanted. Even knew how to handle TV shows with episodes.

Ha, thats it @17. eXtreme Movie Manager, crashes from a .dll in Vista x64 for me, tested on 2 systems :(

If there is a working x64 version of it, I’d love to use it.

I tried this, liked it, bought it. That is the way of torrents for me. I mean, I wanted to try F.E.A.R. and fetched it. Had/have, a GOOD cracked version, works perfect. However, after 14 days, I bought it because I use it.

It’s not ‘piracy’ to want to ensure the application is what you want before you open your wallet.

I thought I posted after that post with the info. Thanks man. I hadn’t read that until after my post, then felt really stupid haha. It does work, however still even when I do that I have to add each movie 1 by 1. If I select “Select a folder” to have it scan my drive, it fails and crashes. So, for now I get to add about 600 or so movies in 1 by 1, which sucks, but when I’m done it’ll be much better.

I have noticed that after running this program that it leaves a process called conime.exe running in the task manager window. Also if I reopen it another conime process starts. I know that conime.exe is a proper windows file but I think it has links with trojans. Has anyone else noticed this?

I use All My Movies with good result. It can scan your harddrive or disc drive and add movies easily. Very rarely, once every 300 searches, it could not find the right IMDB info. There is a plug-in which will let you enter the IMDB address maually and then get the proper info – I have not tried this but it is a free plugin on the website. I just entered the movie info maually, so no big deal. Once in a while it cannot find the correct cover shot but then I just download one using google and add it manually, also no big deal. Works great so far.

You can keep several databases separate, but it costs extra to get the Adult Film plug-in (I don’t have it), though IMDB has a good number of XXX films listed for those looking to catalog their wanker flics.

The original interface is vanilla boring but you can get skins to update.

Crack doesn’t work 100%. The limit of 50 movies in your database is disabled but now I can’t get the data via the internet.

    “Trial edition expired!
Thank you for evaluating the free trial edition of Movie
Collector, we hope you enjoy using it!
We are sorry, but it appears that you have reached the maximum number of searches that is possible from
this trial edition. If you want to continue using Movie Collector and its online search features, please
    purchase the program.”

I really hope another crack is released soon, I LOVE this program.

“Crack doesn’t work 100%. The limit of 50 movies in your database is disabled but now I can’t get the data via the internet.”

First it worked but now (after adding 300+ movies to the database) I get this really annoying message.

Thanks ViSiTor… “trial edition” ended after adding 100 movies. Changed to the sources you listed, and can continue uninterrupted. Thank goodness! Cheers.
Good program. I haven’t fiddled much, but I don’t have all my movies sitting on my drive (no spare Terrabytes!) so just list, let it find them online and then tweak to personalize. Nice job. In fairness I should state I haven’t tried the others listed here.
    peeps :)

    November 17th, 2007 | 20:33

Well, I was also disappointed when I found out it does not scan automatically =(

I have over 4 Tb of movies and there is no way I am going to sit there and add all the movies manually. I could care less about what versions of the movies I have, just that I have a list and the movies can be opened from the software as well…

    November 18th, 2007 | 14:47

Getting the moviedetails from collectorz.com and amazon works again. I think its because they log your IP and now I have a new one.

    @43: There is one possibility:
-Get a program that somehow creates a .txt list of all files/directories in your movie folder (I’m sure there is a program for this)
-Import this list via Movie Collector

    This should work.

    ANT Movie Catalog..
Trust me guys, I ‘ve looked around for quite a long time..
