ZitZot: Metal Gear Solid serie coming to Xbox
That sound you just heard? That’s the sound of a gazillion fanboys and girls screaming, cheering, or gasping in unison. Yes you read the title correctly. Hideo Kojima has announced at the E3 Microsoft keynote, that the Metal Gear Solid franchise is coming to the Xbox 360.
This isn’t just your standard run of the mill Metal Gear Solid franchise, it’s an all new title called Metal Gear Rising and it won’t star Solid Snake it will star the hero of MGS2: Sons of Liberty Raiden. This comes as a bit of a surprise, because over the last couple weeks Kojima had started a countdown teaser site showing nothing but a clock and thunder filled sky. After the initial countdown was over, another clock was revealed, this time showing the face of Big Boss. There was a ton of speculation as to what exactly could be coming down the pipeline from Kojima; and Famitsu jumped into the fray by announcing that it would be a new PS3 Metal Gear game.

NICE. glad i got a 360 and a PS3. although i cant see the 360 pulling off a metal gear game quite like the PS3. if it has online multiplayer though you KNOW it will be good on live. metal gear online was a shambles!!

I always wished there was just one system that all companies shared. You'd have Sony games, Nintendo, Xbox, Atari, etc. The company would take their cut but the system would be for all platforms.

The best thing about the MS press conference is the aftermath, with Sony fanboys crying bitter tears across various forums. It's hilarious. "This isn't a real MGS game!" – yeah, if it was a PS3 exclusive it would suddenly be "teh bestest game evarrrr!!".

Metal gear solid has run it's course anyways, snake eater was the last good game and that was a damn prequel. Crossing over to 360 will only weaken the series further.

i don´t understand why kojima keeps trying to force us to like the most awful character in the history of MGS. Everybody hates raiden, and now instead of the game that everybody wanted (MGS3) kojima gives a game with a character that nobody likes, it´s like if george lucas would have given the main role of episode II to jar jar (not that the final result was better) and even worst it´s not directed by him, now that´s a nice way to say: screw you!! this is the only MGS you are going to get, and with raiden.

I can't blame the Konami camp for making a Metal Gear game for the 360. After all, with all the 360's out there and no price cut YET (I know, soon) from Sony it serves Sony right to lose another AAA exclusive franchise. Had Sony the same market share with the PS3 as they did with the PS2, Metal Gear Solid, like the rest AAA titles Sony lost may still be exclusive to camp Sony. I'm just waiting to hear "GOD of WAR NOW BEING MADE FOR THE 360" and I'll put a bullet in my PS3.

I imagine this will be like a Devil May Cry game, seeing as Raiden is very agile and this isn't a Tactical Espionage game like the previous Metal Gear Solid games (plus no Snake). Seeing as this was in the latest issue of Famitsu PS3 (1 or 2 weeks ago) in Japan with pictures of both Raiden and Big Boss, it will be a multiplatform game. The PSP will also be getting its own MGS game which will probably be announced tomorrow, along with the unveiling of the PSP Go.

The 360 has 1080p gaming? Sorry, but is that a joke? Sure the 360 has native 1080p games (less than 10) but every other game is either 720p or lower. In contrast, the PS3 has around 40 games which are native at 1080p, whilst the rest (just like the 360's) are at 720p or lower so I don't know what you're trying to prove. And how can you claim the PC doesn't do 1080p? A GTX 295 just slapped you across the face.

Sony own the God of War IP so it's not going anywhere. What could appear on the PS3 (but most probably won't) is a Gears of War game as that IP is owned by Epic, not MS.

I have both a PS3 and 360 and I have to say that the 360 is the better console for gaming, Xbox live costs £40 a year but it's worth every penny, it puts playstation online to shame. The controllers are also better and there is no difference between them graphically like some people think. I bought the PS3 mainly for the Blu-Ray player and it is brilliant at that, but when you are talking about gaming the 360 wins.

It's great that other will get to experience MGS but this game will also be more action oriented than stealth so everything about it is different than the main metal gear series.

Now 360 gamers can try a Metal Gear game, and as much as some wish it to be MGS Rising is not exclusive to 360 as it will also come out on PS3 and PC. They will still need a PS3 to play MGS 4 though since as it was said by Kojima himself the 360 can't handle the game as it is now.
I didnt care for Street Fighter 4 but Soul Calibur 4 was so good im still playing it.
I would say any previous sony franchise sucks once it goes multiplatform.
Examples, Gran Theft Auto, Devil May Cry and hopefully this isnt/won't be true for the Tekken, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Serii

If the PS3 was successfully hacked the numbers would be different. All these 360 Fanboys are jack offs and the PS3 clan isn't much better. But if your a true gamer then you have them all. I was thinking about buying a console to "complete" my brand new tv-set and was thinking about PS3 mainly for the Blue Ray capabilities and THE best controller ever (I have a Dualshock2 on my PC and luvin' it), but Xbox360 seems to get also all the games that I want (FF13 and this one) and I heard that you can easily flash (or something) it to play backups…
Should I go for XboX and is it possible to use Dualshock 2 or 3 on it via converter?
No it isnt possible. but you can stream mkvs to ps3s AND 360s so you dont really need a blu-ray player.
though i download i still buy a lot of blu-ray movies for my ps3.
Id suggest the ps3 only for its free online play, intergrated/out-of-the-box wifi capabilities and freedom of accessories to use for it unlike M$ forcing you to buy their overpriced accessories.
You get what you pay for but the 360 is in no way a "bad" option, just one that might bite you later on once you're ready to upgrade something about it

to think of it ps3 has 0 games native 1080p mgs4 vas 720 and top of that it had fps drops alot. Xbox360 has better gpu ps3 better processor(s) what makes that ps3 can stuff more in screen thats however nothing compared to 4870×2/gtx295 abilities to play in hd. Top of that both consoles has their games dunno why u kids are raging all over if u have job what stops you buying both of em ?

I don't discuss about the amount of games in consoles and pc, but when you talk about graphics none of the consoles can't show anything compared with a good PC with a good video card like GTX 295…
I was thinking about getting a PS3 last year, but I'm really starting to have second thoughts now. It's obvious that Sony won't be able to catch up to X360 this generation, but I was hoping they'll at least be able to hold on to its 3rd part franchises. Add to that the billions lost on the hardware, and Sony is in a really dire situation, to that point that a few more wrong moves can send PS3 down the way of the Dreamcast.

As for the original topic, the new MGS title is not 360 exclusive. When interviewed, they said that they never said that it was. It was just a misleading publicity stunt
@50/51 You obviously don't know what you are talking about. 1600p is a resolution of 2560×1600 with progressive scan. A PC can run games at this resolution whilst consoles currently max out at 1920×1080.

Maybe you should check your facts before posting.
The 1st ever native 1080p console game was a PS3 launch title from Namco Bandai called Ridge Racer 7 (which also runs at 60fps). Native 1080p gaming came to the 360 six months after the PS3 launched, the first was Virtua Tennis 3 (which was also native 1080p on the PS3).
Since then, the 360 has received very few native 1080p games (about 10 in total) and most of them are from XBLA.
The PS3 has around 40 games, both retail and PSN which are native at 1080p, and I'm not even including WipEout HD in that figure.
MGS4 wasn't 720p, it was 768p (1024×768). That was one of the compromises made for trying to fit such a large game to fit on a BD50, even without the Japanese audio.
Also, the 360's GPU (if you know your GPU's, then you know that the 360's chip is an R500 which is a lower spec ATI 512MB X1800, whilst the PS3's RSX is an overclocked Nvidia 256MB 7800GTX) isn't what makes it perform better than the PS3 in most (not all) multiplatform games, it's the eDRAM attached to the GPU (as well as code choices during game design).
PS3 1st party exclusives speak for themselves about what can be done on a console. Even MS had to admit that Killzone 2 was better looking than any game currently available for the 360, and Uncharted 2 looks even better.
Everyone here has a opinion and most of them are fanboy talking out of their asses. You can list all the spec of the PS3 it still doesn't prove the system is any better then the 360 at the moment. I think its so sad that people actually waste their time on this issue. Blah blah blah just admit there is only a few games on the PS3 that is worth playing. 400-500 dollars for a fricking George Foreman looking grill that plays blue-ray. Sad part is I own one lol.
