ZitZot: 67% of British families love internet more than food

Brits would rather cut back on food than Internet access, says the mobile carrier O2. According to research by the ISP and mobile network operator, 67 percent of families are reluctant to reduce their spending on Internet access when it comes to beating the credit crunch, while only 24 percent said they didn’t want to reduce their food spending.

O2 also revealed that 40 percent of families admit to spend 10 percent of their household budget on technology and 57 percent said they still intend to purchase gadgets, despite the credit crunch, as long as they are value for money.

technology improves my quality of life, food merely keeps me alive.

i'll take quality over quantity any day.

You know, Martin, just because you're desperate to keep zitzot (lol name) relevant by sticking it before catchy headlines, that doesn't mean it's not misleading and outright lieing to readers here, not to mention that most news articles you seem to focus on are ridiculous to begin with. "ZitZot: <Catchy title from other source here>" implies your lame site had something to do with that article (i.e. conducting the research yourselves, or at least writing it); something more than c&p stealing it, that is.

congratulations Jim, you're only the third person to make that joke!

funniest part is that you've probably never even been to england or tasted english food.

So true p@t, or they've maybe tasted the 4 dishes that Americans always bring out (Full English breakfast, Haggis, Black pudding or Fish and Chips) to justify it…
Maybe it's because they have no tradition of food themselves, beside junk food.
Kind of like apple pie, nothing could be more American, except you know, that apple pie, is British, along with most of the best apple variates for that matter (except for maybe New Zealand).

Point at the worst of British food and going "look British food is bad" is just as stupid, and ignorant as any other false stereotype.

A lot of you are xenophobic and need to see the world before you judge it. Food costs way more than the internet, therefore its sensible to spend a bit less on it, the same would be true of America.

I can't really cut down on £10 a month for 20mb can I? I can cut down on the hundreds of pounds I splurge on eating out

When one gets enough food, one will prefer internet. Lets keep everyone two days without food and ask the same question … how many will answer internet …??

Statistics is powerful tool … but should be used in proper way for constructive purposes.

I'm American and I wouldn't care about cutting back on food if it meant more and/or faster internet lol.
