Ziggy Marley – Love Is My Religion (US Retail) (2007)
The Marley family clan brings us another great album: Ziggy Marley, the other son of Bob Marley, released a new album called Love Is My Religion. The US Retail version features 3 live bonus songs and it’s needless to say we are talking about raggae once again. This album appeared already in 2006 but this extended version was released just today.
Love Is My Religion is Ziggy Marley’s second solo album, the first being Dragonfly, after the 2000 end of Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers. The album was released on July 2, 2006 by father Bob Marley’s label Tuff Gong Worldwide, and carries on his reggae style pop sound and lyrical themes established in Dragonfly. Love is My Religion was named the 2007 Best Reggae album for the 49th Grammy awards held in Los Angeles in 2007.
David Nesta “Ziggy” Marley (born October 17, 1968, Trenchtown) is a Grammy-winning Jamaican musician. He is the oldest son of Rita and Bob Marley, the legendary roots reggae singer. His mother Rita called and baptised him David, but his father Bob nicknamed him “Ziggy” in reference to a marijuana cigarette.
