Zebrahead – Phoenix (Advance) (2008)

Looked around and saw the newest album from pop-hip hop-punkers Zebrahead had hit, at a pretty decent 5 weeks before it hits store shelves.  I don’t know if there are any voice drops or anything else that you sometimes see on advance releases, but considering the .nfo doesn’t say so, I’m going to assume no.  So if you’re into this kind of thing, make sure you check this album out.

Zebrahead is an Orange County, California-based rap/punk band which was formed in La Habra, California.

On May 17th 2008, it was revealed via the band’s MySpace tagline that the upcoming album would be entitled “Phoenix”. A day later, Zebrahead Blog Postcards From Hell revealed that the first single from the album would be entitled “Mental Health” and its music video would be directed by Elliot Dillman of Pandaworks.

While many details of the new album are still unknown, the following has been confirmed:

  • The album will be released on July 9th, 2008 in Japan, August 5th, 2008 in the United States, and August 4th, 2008 in the UK and Europe.
  • The songs “Art Of Breaking Up”, “Mental Health” and “Be Careful What You Wish For” will be included.
  • The artwork will be created by Oxen Art (Shawn Harris from The Matches and Emilee Seymour).
  • The US version of the CD will feature 16 tracks plus currently unannounced bonus tracks, while the European version will have 17 (1 bonus track). The Japanese version will have two bonus tracks bringing the total to 18 songs.
  • “Mental Health” is the first single to be lifted from the album.
  • The album is being produced by Cameron Webb and Howard Benson.

Damn. The movie section is fixed.

When you post something, and don’t specify what section it goes in, it goes in the movie section automatically.

Just to let people know, the tracklisting is a bit fooked up. Some of the songs are labelled wrong, theres at least 4 I know of. Track 11 – Brixton should be Track 15 – The Junkie And The Halo, and theres 2 others that are wrong that I can’t think of right now.

Still, its 2 weeks early, or over 2 months early for the UK release, so I’m happy!
