Youth Without Youth 2007 DVDRip XviD-JvL

A fairly interesting drama Youth Without Youth filmed in a coproduction of 5 different countries is now available in the dvdrip quality. This is a love story based on a Romanian novel, taking part in 1930s, before WW2. The only better known actor in this movie is probably Tim Roth, the rest of the cast is almost unknown. Don’t expect miracles, but this 1 CD release could give you some entertainment for two hours…

Francis Ford Coppola returns to the director’s chair for the first time in nearly a decade with his ambitious parable YOUTH WITHOUT YOUTH. Set in Romania on the eve of World War II, the tale begins when 70-year-old linguistics professor Dominic Matei (Tim Roth) is struck by lightning, miraculously restoring him to the flower of youth. Swaddled in bandages, blind, and mute, Dominic astounds his doctor (Bruno Ganz) with his swift recovery–new teeth, smooth skin, and a shining mane of hair–and even the young nurses start to take an interest in the dashing, vigorous septuagenarian. But things turn perilous when the Third Reich learns of Dominic’s rejuvenation and wants to harness his new, superhuman abilities.

Hope he is adding to his legend with Youth Without Youth.

Beware of the BRENDAN virus - causes you to download 700MB which you don’t want. Lies to you THREE times in a TRIPLE bluff to get you to download the 700MB. Offers a false cure once you are tricked into downloading the 700MB. Then sexually attacks your sister, your girlfriend and any other girl you respect. Judging by the sample, this release is going to need English subtitles. Does it come with that, or can they be downloaded separately from elsewhere? Your help is much appreciated.

@MCF3778 Cloverfield - I feel your pain, Brother! Actually went to the cinema to see it, and when the lights went on there was an entire audience including me looking at each other and saying “What was that?”. To each his or her own though - I know people who actually liked it. For me, in this case, even ONE download is one too many!

I’ll say this: always check out ANYTHING by Coppola, as a matter of fact.
You might actually even realize this or that one is not actually up to standard, but the man is a film maker by trade and vocation, so many others being just hired hands, for better or for worse.

So thank you #31 enigma and the polish guys from #33 for the links.

@10 Martin, Thanks for clarifying subs/language info. Sounds like a nice little piece of cinematic esoterica. If anyone can do the subject matter justice it would be Coppola.

    Cheers

Great premise. Crap execution. The reason I wanted to see this movie was worth the 2 hours. I got tons of ideas on how to write a better one. Its been a while since Mr. Coppola directed a movie, and it shows. Anyways, I guess this download was worth it. I didn’t even need the english subs to understand what was going on. Only for true Coppola fans…. and maybe students of metaphysics.

Why hasn’t this been nuked yet?

The hardcoded subs are Italian and there is at least 30mins+ of dialogue in other languages.

Last nigh I watched this movie. And I advise anybody to go and search for subs, if there are any, before watching this movie. It indeed has hardcoded Italian subs. Nice if you know Italian. Not so nice when you don’t and the dialogue is totally not understandable. And is this movie it is a severe portion of the film you miss.

    Not so good.

Man what’s wrong with people, what’s the point of uploading a movie if the people can’t understand it? I know that a lot of it is in English, but a lot of the dialogue NEEDS subtitles. Why is this partly subtitled in Italian anyways? That makes even less sense. Dear god I’m throughly frustrated now.

While this doesn’t seem to cover all languages, (as in there is some dialog the directors never wanted interpreted), it does cover most of it.
