@12 — Personal preference. Not really bloating anything when it’s not running, but it does take more RAM when you’re using it of course.
I’ve toyed with this one before. It’s not bad at all, but didn’t fit my needs. For a full blown Explorer replacement, I kinda liked Directory Opus a little better.. but that’s just personal preference. Try it, if you don’t like it its just a quick click to uninstall.
Or you can just beef up Explorer a bit with some shell extensions. (Granted, more memory usage again, but you don’t get more features for free eh?) Personally, I’m liking QTTabBar and QTAddressBar. Gives Explorer tabbed browsing, really nice tooltip previews of multimedia, a breadcrumb address bar, sub-folder tooltips, etc etc.. tons of stuff. My only complaint is that it runs on .NET, but that aside it works great, and gives Explorer a lot of new tricks. I also run a few other little miscellaneous ones like HashTab, HiddenFileToggle and the like just for convenience, along with TerraCopy, which I can’t do without.
