I Dig what lee welton said.
So I changed the name of a keygen that was being flagged and scaned again. I tried simply changing the displayed keygen file name, but of course it wasn’t that simple – must go deeper.
Any help/instructions on doing so, anyone?!

I did a scan with Trend Micro, Ad-aware and Mcafee. They all ran clean. Trend stated however that my keygens were “Malware” as they are used for running stolen software. There are no bugs but obviously the scanners may say something as a diversion to you using the gens. Lastly, when you run a keygen, it can and some do change some .dll values and can possibly be used for key tracking. There are programs offered by Microsoft to moniter these micro changes. Which brings me back to the “Malware”, of course the all mighty Microsoft will say anything to have you avoid using stolen software.

To NOT STUPID. you are the idiot cos i have avast and i downloaded a ViRiLiTY product and avast warned me of 2 trojans in winzip 11 keygen. my mate has avast and he downloaded a ViRiLiTY product (different to mine) and he got a trojan and was warned by avast.ViRiLiTY products are MALICIOUS SOFTWARE DONT ACCEPT IT. They are even putting it out on isohunt .com and every where else. i have a legal nortan 360 anti-virus £60 and i prefer to use avast FREE over any thing else.

@ 21 and 22… Real dangers yes but not these false flags that are coming up. If you study the usage of these AV programs they were once reliable. Even Norton was until they became popular and sold out to big corporations. Now seems like AVG is heading in the same direction. Heard anything from Kaspersky or NOD32 users? Any real infections or are they just “generic” trojans with NO threat? I am no ostrich such as a troll as you lee and tom, but I also do not react to every knee jerk panic like they want me to. It won’t be long until the other AV’s go this route. How come AVG’s heuristics didn’t warn me about this “infection” months before an update telling me I had keygens with trojans in them? Was it because it had the word “keygen” attached to the proggie? Hey coders, make another name besides keygen and lets see if my proof of concept works or not.

Have to agree with others above. Why would a simple keygen program get flagged as a Trojan? Almost all software has functions similar to a keygen, which is just an algorithm routine, and that software doesn’t all get flagged.

So if your anti-virus is telling you that some random piece of software that no one will take responsibility for indicates it contains a trojan, you should believe it.

Rlslog should delete infected posts like this.

You guys are idiots about the Mcafee and AVG virus crap warnings. I noticed the warnings when I used AVG a few months back and noticed it said that all the proggies with keygens I had backed up were trojans “generic”. NO virus’ are out there in the world named “generic” now is there? Not yet anyway. So I am off of AVG and now use Avast on Windows 64bit and guess what? NO WARNINGS. Me thinks that some av companies are getting payoffs to name the keygens trojans to MAKE YOU BRAIN-LESS IDIOTS SCARED!!!
I stick with teams or Individuals like NoPE, ViRiLiTY, and some other pirates I can’t think of right now since I just woke the crap up. Damn, my head hurts because of craps like you. You have a BRAIN, use it!!! If you idiots calculate whats going on in the world you would know it’s all about fear.
