XIII Century Death or Glory DVDRiP-RiTUEL

RiTUEL released a few hours ago another RTS which really isn’t my type of game but still looks worth playing considering its size. If your bored with all your flashy new games you might aswell give this one a try as it has some soild RTS action.

Note XIII.Century.Death.or.Glory-ViTALiTY was released 8 hours ago but twice the size so not really worth it ;)

XIII Century is a 3D RTS that combines Risk-style global strategy game play with real-time tactical action. As a leader of one of the European nations in the XIII Century, gamers are tasked to test their steel against the neighboring nations and carve their names into history.

The game features large-scale battles that offer players a chance to test their skills as a military leader on a battlefield or during a siege, and gives an opportunity to customize troops’ and military equipment. The strategic mode gives players a vast variety of options to test their economic, diplomatic and political skills prior to invading and conquering a region. But think twice before making a move - each decision will be reflected in the course of the game.

Can someone tell me why people prefer rapidshare over torrents. rapidshare is so slow and also it takes forever. YOu only can download one file at a time unless you have a premium account, in that case its not free anymore. Please tell me why.

I recently got a rapidshare premium account for a year and it’s brilliant! The only problem is in a 5 day period you can only download 25GB, but it maxes out my 20Mbit connection no problem. I can get my nix distros in minutes. :D

    Hello.
@7 IP does gets exposed. Only to the RS UPLOADER if he has a premium account.

Good thing, is that the log shows what IP downloaded and the quantity, but is doesn’t shows what file downloaded.

That was i kinda was asking the RSLOG to use some kind of “SAFE RS UPLOADERS” list. =)

    Cheers my friends.
    Thanks for the RS links!!!

    @15..

the game COMES on a DVD 9as in BIG). It is a DVD-RIP.. of the game. Without downloading it.. I’m guessing the release group RiTUEL took out some unecessary elements.. perhaps the DX install files, other language files (besides English) or such. Of course.. the term “rip” (as in the old days) may mean that they actually DID rip the game.. possibly taking out such things as cutscenes, music or speech.. as THEY deemed “unecessary”.

If you want the entire game as released.. go for the Vitality one. until someone lets us know what the difference is.. or an info is.. uhm.. nevermind:

    “NOTES

    Ripped: intro”

.. apparently.. the intro takes up half of the DVD’s size.

@6 you’re an ignorant noob. RS is wayyyyy faster than torrents. It takes like 3 hours to dl a 5gb file via RS, and I find THAT to be a long time. I really couldn’t stand to wait for a torrent dl to finish anymore, its just too slow.

Oh and with RS you don’t upload, and you just download from ONE server which doesn’t keep logs. This way there’s no possibility for stupid companies to track you. And even if there is, in my country dling-only is wholly legal. So with RS I’m not facing ANY consequences, capice?

  19. Sweatitout
    April 13th, 2008 | 08:51

rapidshare is fast but having to disconnect clear ip cache then reconnect to continue the downloads is a little annoying.
I perfer megaupload.. You only have to eait 3 or 4 minutes to get the next download. Too many ppl like RS. There is better download services.

eeeh…. stop being so childish, RS admins know what you are downloading/uploading and who you are and ofcourse they keep logs. They can track you down if needed.

mpaa or whatever can just ask RS for logs for the uploaded file and BAM, game over…

…and if this game has 2000seeders, members of bitsoup have horrible taste, this game is nothing more than crappy MTW mod.

In private trackers there is “upload credit” gotten by donating some money. $20 can get you 250GB upload credit in bitsoup + VIP status and a chance to win $350 in the raffle, so you won’t have to seed that much.

    Have to say I installed this. Played the first part of the tutorial. Loaded up a campain and then played for 10 minutes. It’s a unit where X{unit}+Y{terrain} will beat A{unit} + B{terrain}

    Not particularily satisfying.
It looks like you may get some epic battles out of it, but I’m with #21 on this, uninstalled and deleted.

This game doesn’t suck, it’s actually pretty good. Probably not better than MTW2 but way better than “Crusaders thy kingdom come”. It takes some time getting used to the ui and stuff, graphics aren’t top notch but if you are into real time war strategies, it might be worth a dl as it’s just 1.65gb.

  34. Armacalypse
    April 13th, 2008 | 14:54

    MTW2 sucked compared to MTW1.
And by the review of this game on Gamespot it seems even better, but without the strategy map.

I’m a veteran of the total war series, starting with Shogun. After having played this game, I can say that AI wise, its better than M2TW or RTW, even with the AI/battle mods for those games. Its actually pretty close to perfect, the AI is unforgiving, which gives each battle a high replay value.

Hopefully with two RTS games being released in early ‘08, that are similar to the total war series, both this game and Crusaders: TKC, Creative Assembly will get the picture that their AI was actually pretty horrible, bordering on flat out broken.

I would definitely give this game a shot. I haven’t played Crusaders yet though. I plant to install it on Monday.

  36. Alcari
    April 13th, 2008 | 15:45

Well, the game itself is a rather sucky Total War ripoff. There’s no real campaign, only seperate missions, so it doesn’t matter at all if you barely win and get your army wiped out, because there is no strategic effect at all.

The animations are sucky, the physics worse. The units are basically all clones of eachother with the same stats, reducing the choice of units to Swordsman, spearman, archer, light/heavy horse.

PS. Private trackes FTW. I get >5MB/second (yes megabyte)

To add to the RS debate…

It often takes a long time for a torrent to achieve it’s potential download speed and due to contention ratios this may be well short of your maximum speed anyway.

Private trackers often will give better speeds and give them faster but keeping an adequate ul/dl ratio may be virtually impossible on many connections. I can download a 5Gb file in about 3-4 hours (with bandwidth maxed {so not via torrent!}) but to achieve a 1:1 ratio on that file would take me about 60 hours (with 100% of my upload bandwidth dedicated)!

I have a rapidshare premium account, it’s so cheap that cost does not really enter into the equation. I initially bought a one month account but due to the premium points system it is easy to sustain a one month account indefinitely.

I use Internet Download Manager to handle my downloads. This allows 15 concurrent connections which is enough to max anyones connection. A nice tip for RS beginers, through rapidshare account controls you can enable one click downloading. As it stands at the moment, I highlight a block of RS links, right click, select download with IDM, click check all and ok, then click start queue.

Download speed is maxed within seconds but you can add a speed limit to reserve some headroom for a bit of browsing while you wait. Files I get are now downloaded as fast as my connection can physically allow.

I have not downloaded any big files via torrent for maybe a year now but before I used torrents exlusively for a long time and switched all my friends onto using them, now those same friends are the ones telling me RS is crap! I don’t mind so much though as I get files twice as fast as them and am not seeding 24h/d.

I guess it’s going to take a while for the majority to accept the benefits over torrents but I have to admit, it really bothers me when people say it’s slow or for “n00bs” or whatever because as far as I am concerned torrents dominance is over.

I also don’t understand the hate for RS. Most likely people who are broke or too young to own a credit/debit card.

Take Assassins creed. I downloaded the game through RS and it took me about 2 hours.

I’ll stick with my RS account. I might look into NZB after this account expires. My ISP has a free newsgroup but it caps your downloads at 2gb/month.

    @49

Are you really so blind that you cannot see your speeds have everything to do with your connection and nothing to do with usenet?

If I had a big fat T3 connection then I could equal your speeds… through RS!!!!!

    To make it simple…

RS allows you to max your download bandwidth as a result download speed is a consequence of your connection…

Same with newsgroups however, there are undeniable drawbacks.

For a start, I know of no providers which offer an uncapped service for less than a RS account. Even if there were some, RS would still win due to ease of use, I mean do you see any nzb files on here?

Anyway, if your such a big proponent of usenet, what are you doing browsing a site full of RS links and torrents?
