Wu-Tang Clan - 8 Diagrams [Retail] (2007)

Wu-Tang Clan - 8 DiagramsHere comes a major Hip-Hop release from group MOD. This is the retail rip of the new Wu-Tang Clan album set for release December 11th. MOD previously released this album on the 19th but todays release is the retail version at a nice average bitrate of 173kbps. Enjoy!

Edit: From a recent interview with Method Man: “The whole music industry is twisted on its fuckin ear, and Britney Spears shaved her head…Thats how i KNOW the Apocalypse is coming” *sips coffee*

Wu-Tang Clan is a New York-based rap group, consisting of nine American rappers. Among its members are multi-platinum selling solo artists, multi-platinum record producers, Grammy winners, TV and film stars, screenwriters, product spokespersons, business owners and, most recently, major motion picture composers. The Clan featured nine MCs until the death of Ol’ Dirty Bastard in 2004. One of the most critically and commercially successful hip-hop groups of all time, Wu-Tang Clan shot to fame through their uncompromising brand of hardcore rap music.

WuTang Clan

8 Diagrams is the upcoming album by New York hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan, scheduled for release through Street Records Corporation on December 11th 2007.

The album’s title is derived from the Kung Fu film Eight-Diagram Pole Fighter. The Clan, which has not released an album since 2001’s Iron Flag, signed a one-album deal with Steve Rifkind’s SRC Records in December 2006. The group’s four previous albums were all released on Rifkind’s now-defunct Loud Records.

8 Diagrams will feature all eight living members: RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Masta Killa. The album will feature previously recorded material from Ol’ Dirty Bastard, the ninth member, as well as a tribute track titled “Life Changes.”

Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA and Sunz of Man rappers joined in a 1995 release which promoted Nation of Islam and the Million Man March and which called on gangbangers to kill whites. (One Million Strong.) GZA and Ol Dirty Bastard each came out with solo albums in 1995. On Ol Dirty Bastard’s album, Method Man makes clear his affiliation with 5 Percent Nation doctrines, saying that he fears that the 85 Percent do not have a “clue.” In the next phrases, he goes on to associate himself with the Nation of Islam doctrine about Yakub, a black scientist, as the extremist group puts it, who created whites 6000 years ago. 5 Percent Nation and Nation of Gods and Earths carry on Nation of Islam’s doctrine about the idea that black men are gods, and that whites trick blacks by telling them that God is unseen, and Method Man sends out the message as follows: “a mystery God, that’s the work of Yacub.” Ghostface Killah came out with a solo album in 1996.

Grape Ape.. Killing people is killing people. How can you destinguish one from the other? Take hate crime in the US for eksample. How come you an ekstra long penalty if a white man kills a black man and he yelled nig¤&* while doing it?

Killing a man is killing a man. Colour makes no difference.

IE: Rapping about killing a black man, should be equally as provocative as rapping about killing white men.

That’s my 2 cents on the whole matter.

also, the debut of raekwon, one of the members, is entitled onli built 4 cuban linx, and itz considered a mafioso rap classic

@ #48 - ” @ #47 - Or maybe you might want to consider taking some grammar lessons and learn how to elucidate properly.”
First of all, I’m quite capable of using proper grammar and I do know how to elucidate properly. As I said in the previous post, the Clan’s debut album, Enter the Wu-tang: 36 Chambers, was one of hip hop’s most influential albums. It was the 27th ablum to be awarded the 5 mic rating by the Source magazine. The “5 mic” rating, in case you didn’t know, was only awarded to hip hop albums that became instant classics at the time they were released and also to albums that embodied what true hip hop really was. These “5 mic” rated albums had a profound effect on the hip hop industry and also influenced other rap artists.
Here is a link of all the Source “5 mic” albums: http://rateyourmusic.com/list/scottbdoug/the_source_magazines_5_mic_rap_albums.
Again, I mentioned this in my previous post, but I have to repeat this to “elucidate properly”. A member of the Wu-Tang Clan, known as Raekwon, released his debut album called “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” (That is the correct title) in 1995. The Source magazine also awarded this album the “5 mic” rating. It pioneered a new genre of rap, called Mafioso Rap, which goes into detail about the Mafisio lifestyle. “Onli Built 4 Cuban Linx…” was also considered a Mafioso Rap classic. It was the 32nd album to recieve the “5 mic” rating. If you check the Wikipedia articles for these albums, you can see that Rolling Stone magazine gave the 36 Chambers album 4 stars out of 5 and that the OB4CL album received perfect 5 star ratings in all the ratings that are provided. The Wu-Tang Clan reignited the trend of rap groups or duos, realising that strength comes in numbers. They have always really quality rap and truly embody and define what hip hop in an age where most rappers fantasize about guns, girls, and money.

@#24 lolz- “sh!t compared to kayne or lil’ wayne
    L0L”

The Wu-Tang Clan are not “sh!t” compared to Kanye West or Lil Wayne. In fact, the leader of the group, known as RZA, has actually influenced Kanye West’s production style. Quote:”Wu-Tang? Me and my friends talk about this all the time… We think Wu-Tang had one of the biggest impacts as far as a movement. From slang to style of dress, skits, the samples. Similar to the [production] style I use, RZA has been doing that.” So there!

@#29- “Someone should tell them that gettin chinese eyes from weed doesn’t make them asian ninjas.” I only have this to say to you: You’re a unintelligent and ignorant hater/critic.

@#32 NuZZ- “Lol what a bunch of f**k heads!
Why would a bunch of black guys try and be ninjas? Those clumsy r3tards would be off their face trying to use those katans in the pic :p.

I don’t really respect or worship the asian blah blah blah but I know what the real wu tang are and damn it is just hilarious when you see a bunch of Americans doing this :P.

This is how I know their music is mcsh!t.”

I would like to say the Wu-Tang Clan are not trying to be ninjas. The founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, GZA, RZA, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, were really into rap and kung-fu movies. So they combined their two interests together to create a new and unique style of rap. You may find this hilarious but you should really stop sitting in front of the computer, go outside, and actually socially interact with other people and ask them about their opinions on the Wu-Tang Clan before you starting making claims without anything to back up what you say. There are alot of people out there that are fans of the Wu-Tang Clan while you have locked yourself in a room, in front of your computer, jerking yourself off.

@#42 eagles- “So, Wu-tang raps about killing ppl. Lil’wayne raps about killing ppl. 50 Cent raps about killing ppl. Is it because they rap about killing white ppl? :O lol” Well, all I can say is that 50 Cent doesn’t necessarily rap about “killing white people”, but he does rap about “killing” because he has no other f**king s**t to rap about. And I suggest you read these sites before you even think about saying the Wu-Tang Clan raps about killing:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enter_the_Wu-Tang_(36_Chambers)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wu-Tang_Clan

So, I’ve addressed all the critics/haters. Don’t judge the Wu-Tang Clan and don’t make falsified bulls**t if you don’t have any actual facts!

Of course they are. But its just more proof that a small percentage of jerks can manage to poison a public forum (as long as they can hide behind a pseudonym). The funny thing is that “grape ape” decried Wu-Tang for promoting the killing of White people. I submit that they mean Whites like him, “Nuzz”, and “asf”. And with that amount of hate coming from people, who can blame them? And BTW, The Wu-Tang Clan do NOT think they are Japanese, Chinese, or anything like it. They chose the name and style because they all grew up watching old kung fu movies. Did Kiss think they were comic book heroes because they dressed in costumes and face paint?

@57- I agree with you on Rushing Elephants, in fact that was one of my favorite tracks but I have to say Starter, I really hate to this as a Wu-Tang fan, but it was pointless because the RZA sampled a song called Certified Samurai, a track he made for the Afro Samurai soundtrack, but it sounded more like an interpolation. The guitar riffs that he included the melody just didn’t match. To be honest, I think Starter was the worst track, the vocals kind of made it sound crowded.

this album is a lil betta than iron flag but not as good as the W.and doesn’t come close to forever or 36 chambers. there is hardly any ghosface on it, if uve heard the two tracks that have been out for a couple mounths, the heart gently weeps and take it back, uve heard all the ghostface on this whole album. seems shady to me because behind mef ghost is the best lyrically, not to hate on the other members, i just found myself waiting on ghost’s verse, espiecially since raekwon is on alot of songs and they compliment each other so well. Its cool to give some shine to cats like masta killa and u-god but im not really feeling listenin to dudes from the south whom ive never heard of on songs when there is no ghost

    @ Justblaze

All u need to know is that Wu-tang raps about killing ppl.. You clearly did not catch my point, which was that it does not matter if it’s about killing white, black or purple ppl. And YEAH, im a fan.. got all their albums and i have no problem with anything they rap about. Most underrated rapper: Inspektah deck. So stop trying to tell ppl off. and BTW. Ghost always salutes ODB at his concerts, i can tell you that because i was there not too long ago, same goes for Rae

  66. JuSTBLaZE
    November 26th, 2007 | 02:01

@65 eagles- You’re right about the fact that Ghostface does pay tribute to Ol’ Dirty, but I still stand behind my claim that the Wu-Tang Clan doesn’t rap about killing people. They may rap about it from time to time but not as frequently as other rappers might. And I’m still pissed at Ghostface for not appearing on the track, even if he pays tributes at concerts. I still don’t know why he didn’t….
Every member of the Clan was on the track except Ghostface. All the other members also pay tribute to ODB at concerts, but it didn’t mean they didn’t have to appear on the track.
