Wristcutters A Love Story LIMITED DVDRip XviD-SAPHiRE

About a week after UNiVERSAL’s release of this drama, SAPHiRE brings us the DVDRip. This film might be good if you’re going by the IMDB rating but the title and some of the pictures don’t make it sound too pleasant.

After Zia (Patrick Fugit) commits suicide by cutting his wrists, he finds himself in an afterlife limbo that is much the same as his former reality, just slightly worse. This strange realm is populated by people who have committed suicide, such as Eugene (Shea Whigham), a Russian rocker who lives with his mother, father and brother (all suicide victims). Eugene is partly based on Eugene Hütz of the band Gogol Bordello, whose music features in the film as that recorded by character Eugene’s old band. He kills himself on stage by pouring a beer he is drinking (”Dead Guy Ale”, brewed by Rogue Brewing Company) onto his guitar. Together they waste most of their death in bars, until Zia learns his ex-girlfriend has also committed suicide. He and Eugene take to the road to find her, picking up hitchhiker Mikal (Shannyn Sossamon) along the way. She insists there’s been a mistake and she is seeking the “people in charge” in order to be sent back. This trio of lost souls forms an uncommon bond, road-tripping through the afterlife and meeting memorable characters including an undercover angel named Kneller (Tom Waits).

    I agree with 4. This is a very original movie, and something I`m surprised ever got greenlit. and my beloved Shannyn Sossamon is in it. and all bow down before the might and pimptasisty of TOM WAITS!!

    UNiVERSAL’s R5 was identical… not every r5 is a telecine.. they also have normal dvd releases.. maybe the R1/R2 will compress better or some, but keep the r5 if you got it already

    the title put me off at first, but it’s nothing like the dark gruesome movie you’d expect from it

    Brilliant movie. I saw the screener and then pre-ordered it through Amazon. It’s a low budget movie, but don’t judge it by that or by the title. It’s funny, charming, and ultimately uplifting. Great cameos, e.g. Tom Waits, and a fun soundtrack, too.

    All the praise this movie has been getting in the comments is totally correct… It’s actually a very lighthearted movie – don’t be turned off by the plot summary, the movie actually has very little to do with that (e.g. suicide). It’s a movie about life. Enjoy!

    … a really weird movie, strange plot, bizarre concept. It’s just great. For all of you who are looking for something different, take a look at the little details in this movie, will not win any academy awards thou, but totally worth watching. I give it thumbs up.

    I highly recommend this film, the Russian guy is excellent, and Tom Waits’ character is absolutely fantastic. Cracking film.

    Surprisingly funny. Ver likeable film, Sea Wigham especially good.

    @37 that appears to be a Boom Mic (To Capture The Sound) that happen to get into that scene or picture which should never happen if the Boom Mic Operator is doing his job.
