World In Conflict-FLT

World in Conflict presents a chillingly authentic Cold War scenario where the Berlin Wall never fell. Created by Cold War authority and best-selling author Larry Bond, the story begins in 1989 as the Soviets, fearing certain collapse, boldly advance into Europe. NATO responds in force only to be met on a second front — a full-fledged invasion of the American homeland.

Players take on the role of field commander, leading the era’s most powerful military machines in the campaign to retake America’s cities and suburbs. The RTS gameplay features completely destructible 3D battlefields, aggressive team-based multiplayer action and a focus on fast, hard-hitting battles.

Features:

  • Super-Powered Warfare: Unleash the arsenals of the great military superpowers in the gripping single-player story created by Larry Bond
  • Bleeding-Edge Graphics – The latest version of Massive’s proprietary Masstech engine allows for a full 360 degree range of camera control and features advanced lighting and physics effects
  • Complete Destructibility – As the battle rages, the world environment pays the price — every object in the game will crumble under the force of war, including cars, buildings and forests
  • Deep Multiplayer Modes: Using Massive’s proprietary Massgate multiplayer server system, World in Conflict will support up to 16 players for head-to-head and team-based battles
  • Real World Units: Players will take control of the most devastating arsenal of military weaponry ever created, including Soviet, American and NATO tanks, planes, trucks, troops and helicopters as well as nuclear weapons
  • Player Roles – Players will choose to play as Infantry, Armor, Support Forces, or Aerial specialists; multiplayer teams will need to master each role for maximum effectiveness

System Requirements:

  • O/S: Windows® XP, VistaTM operating system (32-bit)
  • CPU Single-core: 2.5 Ghz or faster (2.8 GHz for Windows VistaTM)
  • CPU Dual-core: Any Intel® or AMD®
  • RAM: 1 GB (1.5 GB for Windows VistaTM)
  • Hard Drive: 2.0 GB available hard drive space
  • Video: 128 MB video RAM, DirectX® 9.0c compatible (GeForce® 4 MX, Radeon® 8500, 9200 not supported)
  • Sound: DirectX® 9.0c compatible

This is a great game. I also ran it using 1 gig ram, a 1.3ghz athlon 1500+ and a radeon 9700. Still looked great and ran smoothly. Extremely well written both in programming and story, I’d recommend buying it like I did. It is worth it.

to create a server you have to change the configuration
go to control panel, networks connections, now.. in the top bar go to advanced options, then advanced configuration and put hamachi network first, restart. now the game when create a server it will put in the hamachi not the others networks.

    Thank you exscar.

I was just about to delete this from my HDD when I googled FLT World in Conflict and found this page.

To clarify if you didn’t see his post:

    - Right click “flt-wic.001″ and OPEN WITH..

    - Select WinRAR Archiver

    - At the top is the EXTRACT TO button

    - Click it and save it in that same folder

    - Delete the flt-wic.001 – 087 AFTER the extraction is complete (Saves HDD space)

    - Mount the .ISO to your mounting tool (or burner) and install.

    - Play teh game and blow sh*t up.

    :D

    Hi guys,

I cannot play the cinematics at all in the game – I tried to add the “-nointro” and that got the game going, tutorials worked fine but then once I wanted to run the campaign I get kicked out of the game…what do I need to do?

I have Daemon 4.1 installed and Yasy v.1.2.7050 installed as well. Have updated the drivers for my graphic card etc.

    All suggestions much appreciated!

I have the same exact problem … i’m running a nvidia GTS 8700

I have just downloaded World in Conflict via torrent and the files that came with it were wicsetup.exe – 338mb, nan01.dat – 3.51gb, nan02.dat – 886kb. When I try to install the program it comes up with needing to download an extra file – WICSetupData.001.

Can someone please tell me what I am suppose to do with these .dat files as I have a feeling that these might be the files wicsetupdata.001 and wicsetupdata.002 that it is trying download. These files would not be there for no reason and I have no idea what to do with them to get this game working.

Whem I click for it to download the extra file needed it creates an .rra file in a file under /c however this is another 1.8 gb or something.

someone please help. anymore info just ask.

    Cheers guys.

I also can’t get the game to play via Hamachi. I have even tried by having my friend setup a VPN between our computers.

Sometimes we can see each other’s games, but when we try to connect it just said server connection failed.

Any ideas? We have both forwarded 48000 to our internal IP’s with no success, in our routers.

Ok..regarding my last post just above, I figured it out. A big THANK YOU! goes out to SubComanMario, his previous post was exactly the solution I needed. I just had to move the hamachi adapter up to the top of the “priority list” in my network connections advanced settings menu.

    Cheers!

I have the same problem as 113, 118, and 119
the install stops when it tries to download an additional file, WICSetupData.001. There are two .dat files in addition to the setup.exe included in this torrent. one of these is probably part of the install file.
    please help us!

I seem to have the same problem as many others (for example Jonas nr 100). I tried Matt’s solution as well but that makes the tutorial playable but not the game itself…
I tried the 1.05 patch, installing with YASU etc, nothing helps.
As I got into the tutorial using the nointro solution, I think the game crashes if you want to start a campaign because at that time some cinematics would normally kick in…
Guess the game would play fine only these cinematics make it crash on some pc’s.
If anyone with this problem can work out a solution, plz let us know here!

    First, thx to SubComanMario.
The solution he gave was basically what Marach said here:http://wic.freehostia.com/images/hamachi-fix.png
However, according to Marach, that solution is for Windows XP.
Anyway, I am using Vista, and I’m currently having the same problem as many of the repliers had before.
I checked my Advanced Settings, set Hamachi’s priority to the first under both tabs, as well as the IPv4/IPv6 order…
But, unfortunately, my friends were still unable to locate my server…
They hadn’t check whether they set their priorities or not. But since they had some successful experiences with someone else hosting, the possiblity of this causing the problem seemed to be relatively low.
