World In Conflict-FLT

World in Conflict presents a chillingly authentic Cold War scenario where the Berlin Wall never fell. Created by Cold War authority and best-selling author Larry Bond, the story begins in 1989 as the Soviets, fearing certain collapse, boldly advance into Europe. NATO responds in force only to be met on a second front — a full-fledged invasion of the American homeland.

Players take on the role of field commander, leading the era’s most powerful military machines in the campaign to retake America’s cities and suburbs. The RTS gameplay features completely destructible 3D battlefields, aggressive team-based multiplayer action and a focus on fast, hard-hitting battles.

Features:

  • Super-Powered Warfare: Unleash the arsenals of the great military superpowers in the gripping single-player story created by Larry Bond
  • Bleeding-Edge Graphics – The latest version of Massive’s proprietary Masstech engine allows for a full 360 degree range of camera control and features advanced lighting and physics effects
  • Complete Destructibility – As the battle rages, the world environment pays the price — every object in the game will crumble under the force of war, including cars, buildings and forests
  • Deep Multiplayer Modes: Using Massive’s proprietary Massgate multiplayer server system, World in Conflict will support up to 16 players for head-to-head and team-based battles
  • Real World Units: Players will take control of the most devastating arsenal of military weaponry ever created, including Soviet, American and NATO tanks, planes, trucks, troops and helicopters as well as nuclear weapons
  • Player Roles – Players will choose to play as Infantry, Armor, Support Forces, or Aerial specialists; multiplayer teams will need to master each role for maximum effectiveness

System Requirements:

  • O/S: Windows® XP, VistaTM operating system (32-bit)
  • CPU Single-core: 2.5 Ghz or faster (2.8 GHz for Windows VistaTM)
  • CPU Dual-core: Any Intel® or AMD®
  • RAM: 1 GB (1.5 GB for Windows VistaTM)
  • Hard Drive: 2.0 GB available hard drive space
  • Video: 128 MB video RAM, DirectX® 9.0c compatible (GeForce® 4 MX, Radeon® 8500, 9200 not supported)
  • Sound: DirectX® 9.0c compatible

Also has voip build in so bring your headset.

    September 19th, 2007 | 15:13

tbh i thought the game sucked, cant understand what the deal is whit seing super tiny tanks and soldiers… you cant play without being extremely zoomed out, and online play basicly is just sending miniature squads out for their doom hoping they got 1 shot in to kill the other miniature squad..

DX10 ok, but whats the point if you cant play the game and at the same time “see” the goodies, except nuke explotion witch isnt all that to cheer for.. id go for C&C any day or supreme commander if i wanted zoomed out battles in trategy gaming..

but i gues most dont care what they can and cant see aslong as they can send tons of units and watch them die in 2 seconds ;) graphics isnt anything spectacular tbh. nice article though!

    Singleplayer? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  39. Daze
    September 19th, 2007 | 19:44

@Saulo Benigno, this game is at least 2 times more hardware demanding then Airborne and Bioshock.

    I have
    Intel Core Duo 2 gigherz
    4 GB DDRII 800 mhz
    EVga Nvidia 8600 GT

With this I run Bioshock and Airborne to the max, with no problem. With the “World in Conflict” demo I barely can run it on “HIGH”!! There is a higher setting, “ULTRA”. The high setting gav eme some framedrops, hopefully the final version is smoother!

So no, I don’t think your Radeon 9600 XT is gonna make it!

  40. Bryan
    September 19th, 2007 | 20:03

Then what about my 7600GT? :(

to all the ppl that say that they cant understand why anyone would want this because you have played in the beta etc etc. well.. i played in the beta and there were only MP to be played there, the SP-campaign is great too.

    September 19th, 2007 | 22:13

Well worth picking up – the single player campaign is excellent, Im going to buy this for the multiplayer :)

  56. Baloney
    September 20th, 2007 | 00:00

“Sucks new windows games only work on Vista.”

Who told you that? Not a single new game requires Vista. When Microsoft claimed they did, they were soon cracked to work in XP.

DX10 is worthless. OpenGL 3.0 will work on ANY platform and can use DX10 shaders.

Just checked NTI…I saw another release by FLT called World in Conflict-FLT #2…what’s the deal with this? This version has 91 files and a 4.02GB size. The release in this post has 89 files and a 4.03GB filesize. As far as I can tell, the #2 release has the same size RAR archives while the other has one RAR archive with a size that doesn’t match the others.

Kickass game, can be played online through hamachi 8 versus 8 WITHOUT CD KEY ACTIVATION. Get hamachi at http://www.hamachi.cc, set up a LAN over the internet with your buddies and play away.

Anyone heard anything of private ranked servers ? I mean ranked online play without going through their massgate “portal” ? That’d rock.

I cant open the first file with winrar.. it says file it is unknown or damaged. It’s not done yet but you can usually open the files anyways.

Anyone get Hamachi working with it? Can’t see each other’s games, everything else works normal. Anyone know if perhaps it needs a setting in the shortcut to set an internal ip (for router users?) like other games have needed in the past?

    Thanks!

    #80 @ frank

If you have norton internet security installed thats why my friend had same problem told him to install just antivirus and games worked fine after that.

Winrar isnt reconizing the archives of this torrent. I recently updated to 3.71 Final. Whwn I have the first file opened and have it marked as a winrar file, it tells me it is damaged or unknown. Uusually if the file isnt complete it just says error but shows me the arcived file anyways. But it wont open so i think this is fubar, I’ll look for a torrent from another group.

According to Azureus everything except the final piece of the rar is 100% on my download. This is officially a 99.9% download.

    I feel cheated.

Can someone that downloaded this earlier perhaps put the flt-wic.052 file on rapidshare or something? Cause otherwise I’ll have just wasted 3 days downloading a bad file.

For the hamachi users, set UDP and TCP to 48000 and forward it in your router.

Well I dont know why it isnt working for you.. All I did was use daemon tools with yasu in the folder and cloak it, it installed fine.. I copied the cracks over to the right folder and started to play.. good game.

I think there are new betas out from nvidia for this game. try tweakforce or nzone for the beta’s.

Worked Fine. Agree, the single player is rubbish. Played the first three missions and it feels like a very simple RTS game. The Commander always rushes you into moving onto the next target, no real thought control. Nothing compared to Company of Heroes. World in Conflicts Multiplayer is the main reason to own this, then again you will have to buy it for the exact same reason. Don’t download for the single player not worth it.

    1. Install with Daemon Tools v4.10
    2. Apply the crack, make sure copy all three files.
    3. play. (unmount image, not needed)

Note: make sure your video drivers are fairly up-to-date. I was using ATI’s v7.7

    Tested:

    Athlon64 x2 Dual Core 4200+
    2GB Memory
    512mb x1900xt
    resolution 1280×1024

Also works with SM 2.0 – x800xl graphics card.

I was getting the problem with the game not loading and going back to desktop so I did the following :

Add -nointro to the end in the desktop icon properties. Right click on the desktop icon, select properties, and then click on the SHORTCUT tab. Note the space before the hyphen and no space after the hyphen.

    example:

    “c:/program files/sierra/world in conflict/wic.exe” -nointro

And it seemed to work well gets the game running anyways!

Roy, you need to open winrar first and inside winrar you need to open the first document like *.000 or *.001

Is really the single player campaign is bad by the way

This game works 100%, you don’t have to burn it ( but you can to save space in you HDD )
Just right click “flt-wic.001″ then press open with WinRar and then extract it, also the crack that is in there works, its in the Fairlight folder just copy the files and PLAY :) . and i think single player is not bad at all, it has great story, great voice acting and other stuff, but the only bad thing about single player is you are limited with the warfare that you can use ( let me put it this way, i like helicopters, and i other RTS if you unlock the helicopters, then you can use them till the end of the game, but not in this RTS, here you are given different things for different missions ) so for me that is the only drawback, but still I can’t stop playing the game :)

    Hi guys,

I cannot play the cinematics at all in the game – I tried to add the “-nointro” and that got the game going, tutorials worked fine but then once I wanted to run the campaign I get kicked out of the game…what do I need to do?

I have Daemon 4.1 installed and Yasy v.1.2.7050 installed as well. Have updated the drivers for my graphic card etc.

    All suggestions much appreciated!
