Wireless networks takeover home internet
More than one third of Internet users have connected to the Web via a wireless connection, according to a new survey that was released yesterday. That number, which includes Wi-Fi and mobile Internet access, marks a 50% increase from three years ago. According to the survey, conducted by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, the number of individual users with a wireless network in their home also grew significantly over the past couple years. Compared with January 2005, when only 10% of Web surfers had a wireless router, the new results showed that number jumped to 19%, nearly doubling in just 24 months.
The increasing popularity and accessibility of laptops was a notable trend, according to the survey. Of those with a wireless network and a laptop, 75% said they connect to the Internet from multiple areas of the house. I was also one of these persons who thought that there’s no need for fireless at all. But after buying the wireless router (which was pretty cheap too), I quickly realized all the advances of internet in the air. Or do you know something better than lying in your bed with a laptop and watching some latest movie?

Haha very True Martin, there’s nothing better than lying in your bed with your laptop and watching some of the latest movies.
What’s even funnier is that I don’t think I can remember the last time I sold an ADSL modem that didn’t come with Wi-Fi built in.
Keep up the good reviews mate, RLSLOG is getting better by the day!
Lying in your bed and watching a movie on a tv is even better… And not to boast, but having an internet connection that’s nearly twice as fast as Wi-Fi I really know why I still use a cable…
i use my laptop even when i’m on the loo
We are all going to get cancer because of the microwaves!!!
THE END IS NEAR.
i dont have a laptop
Just a reply to Barabbas comment… not to boast but i use belkin N1 wireless router and im on a 24Mb Cable Connection and i have never maxed out the ablity of the wireless technology in this router…. so in conclusion i really know why i still use wireless and love the freedom….
Fireless … lol ! NO I don’t use wireless. But you know what is better than lying in your bed with your laptop and watching some of the latest movies. Is lying in your bed with your laptop and watching some of the latest movies with a girl .
Bongo, I guess having a 100Mbit connection via ethernet is just not normal
Although it is kinda hard to max out that connection.
Well, if I had a laptop I would of course be using wireless.
Alot of this jump has to do with ISPs providing wireless routers instead of plain old cable/dsl modems.
It’s also a plus because most of these morons don’t know how to secure their AP. Even if they put a wepkey on it, the management login is almost always the default settings.
Good for pirates on the go like me
I keep a wireless transmitter open for friends that come over and sometimes when I got to untether my laptop. Have seen some stupid fucks with desktops connected via wireless. Everything wired Cat5 to Gigabit is best for fast transfer of files to other PCs on the network for movie pirates especially, and all us Swedish guys got fastest net connection and we also have huge dicks.
good luck streaming files (if that’s how u watch movies)
“…Have seen some stupid fucks with desktops connected via wireless…”
I gotta desktop computer network at home (two pc’s in two different rooms) running wireless because the only cable plug is way the fuck in another room. It saves me from having to buy twenty meters of cable and all the accessories to hook the shit up!! So, its not a big stretch of the mind to imagine how desktops can benefit from a wireless connection or maybe your just a stupid fuck.
trashd , he’s talking about neighbors with desktops and wirless nic’s, leeching his connection, you fucking idiot.
And this talk about not getting full bandwidth on a 24MB ADSL2.
An 802.11g wireless NIC in a laptop will easily download on that link at full speed, if it doesn’t you don’t have is setup up correct.
oops! Just reading too fast.
