In this case this is a false alarm. Anyway, winrar is frequently packed with REAL trojan because is't one of the most popular app…

@14 and 15 – Thanks for clearing that up! I had a feeling it was a false alarm, as we all know keygens at frequently targeted by virus scanners because of their legality. The fact that this thing actually works made me wonder how on earth it could have a virus, why make a working application with a virus? Kind of defeats the purpose…then again, could be a nasty trick if someone did try that =P.

THe one posted by the mod is 300,447 bytes.It's easy.You just need the genuine key to compare it.Google the release name and download it from netloaded.THere is the clean version.

If they were real hackers who want to spread useful programs for those who cannot afford them, they would just release a big text file full with working keys instead of wanting people to run a suspicious program. A 2Mb compressed txt file could contain literally thousands of automatically generated keys and wouldn't pose any risk. Anyway, if you have to use a keygen, run it in a virtual machine, then delete the VM and replace it with a fresh backup.
If you are stupid enough to run this in anything other than a sandbox or virtual OS , you deserve all you get .

to all the 'experts' saying to run this in a virtual machine/sandbox.. .It's a 209kb file ffs, if you have a decent anti-virus then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Open the keygen with 7zip and u'll see keygen.exe and iexplorer.exe.
iexplorer.exe is the trojan, keygen.exe inside 7zip is the real keygen.

Seems people don't really understand
I never said "It's not a virus" -> i said
* Genuine fff keygen may give false warning
* People may embed REAL trojan with genuine file
* You av may give false alarm BUT
* Its not because your av don't see a virus that this is not a virus…
Conclusion :
For all:
* Get a decent AV
* Don't donwload from unsafe place
For paranoid (like me):
* Use a VM or a SandBox
or
* Close internet and get out

@34: Thanks for posting the key file. Anyone who is paranoid about running the keygen can use the key from post 34 and it works just fine.
However, you don't "run" the file like 34 said. Instead, just save rarreg.key to your Winrar program folder and you are done. Next time you launch Winrar it will be registered.
No virus or trojan or infection, 100% guaranteed, because it's just a text file.

Crc in the nfo is the CRC of Winrar.exe, not the keygen
@Max: Nope, that would make no sense because there is a 32-bit and a 64-bit version that both work with the keygen. Besides, when you get the non-trojan keymaker like the one I posted you get:
