My son just bought Vista Ultimate Upgrade and after he installed it I’m thoroughly unimpressed with the whole OS…

Seriously, It really is just XP Media Center with a new Face… Sure it has some minor tweaks under the hood but overall it is the biggest lame excuse for an OS I’ve ever seen!

I installed Kubuntu about a week ago and I’m pretty sure that Vista will have me using Linux more than Windows in the future.

I’m getting tired of people flaming other people for their opinions. Opinions will always be heard and shared, so share away no matter what your background is, but do us this one favor: try to be as constructive as possible while sharing information that HAS NOT BEEN SHARED YET in this forum. That’s it. Nobody likes to read the same thing twice, no matter what side you’re representing. Otherwise, the other side also feels the need to repeat valid arguments, resulting in a diluted forum that’s a waste of every reader’s time.

That’s one thing Rlslog hasn’t done, is instill a set of rules because it’s seems to attempt to be a looser idea hence the “comments” name rather than forum. Still, just because there aren’t die hard rules posted, consider simple maturity here guys. Don’t repeat dumb or good shit, and don’t flame people for who they are or what their experience is. Attack the actual information with more information. That way a visitor will actually learn something. Like me

Take the mature way out, if you don’t like MS, then don’t read about it. Ignore it. You’ll find you save an amazing amount of time.

Otherwise, who cares what MS say or do with their products. They can do whatever they want.

Yeah, I’m a Linux and BSD user, and I ignore MS related matters…All I’m asking is: Linux/BSD folks, walk away. Let Apple and Windows people argue with pointless trivial issues. Consider more constructive things…Like download torrents!

I think that before talking about an os you guys you should have tested fitst. I have a degree in systems and I have worked with ms os and I do not thing their os is a wate of time. Think about Microsoft, it is not a cheap company at all. In the other hand you try to write and compile an os, would you?… NO.

However if you have experimented problems with xp try to find out or at least to understand where the problem is…

only linux users have a right to complain about the DRM issues. since they don’t actively defend a corporation that takes away their rights ($pple).

fuck micro$oft but fuck $pple twice as much for trying to deceive others into thinking they are somehow anti-DRM. $pple ’s empire was BUILT on DRM and closed/proprietary practices and technology.

a lot of computer savvy people have to use microcrap’s os because most of the software they use runs on it and especially gamers. and no, $pple is NOT an alternative. it’s like jumping out of the fire and into the oven. why would you switch from a proprietary, closed DRM’d OS and then go to another closed, proprietary DRM’d OS (crapintosh)? tell me if that makes any sense.

if microfilth and faggple would die, consumers would benefit so damn much. linux is open and free and doesn’t dictate to users how to use it or what machines they can install it on. and the customizability is insane.

i’m waiting for the day when all DRM (on every device from cell phones to dvd players to consoles) will truly DIE. DRM is the absolute antithesis of consumer rights.

DRM’s only purpose is to prevent lawful uses of purchased media since copyright infringers (propoganda word: pirates) don’t have to deal with it.

DRM = anti-consumer rights.

All these prats talking about linux and fag macs are full of crap you cant play hardly any games on either and most things you want to use on a computer dont work right on them or need special versions to work by this sumemr everything will work fine on vista just as on xp, im using vista right now, I download alot convert video play games use the internet like most people and so far everything I have wanted to do has been done just as good as on xp the 64bit vista is where 90% of the problem is but thats the case with windows xp 64bit aswell, also talknig about it needing ridicuoous comp specs is stupid my pc was built (by me) 2 years ago and runs it with full aero just as smoothly as xp and my graphics card is shit. DONT COMMENT UNLESS YOU HAVE USED IT 99% OF PEOPLE HAVING A GO ARE BASING OPINIONS ON REVIEWS AND OTHER PEOPLES COMMENTS NOT THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES!
