Thanks tof, good to know, cause I’ve been dying to install CS4 and it requires SP1 to be installed and my vista wont allow it. So am gonna hope to install this as a workaround.

I just unpacked the win7 6956 vhd to a new partition and about to set the vistabootpro up so i can dual boot it and see what its like… anyone tried 6956 yet

installed the sp2 beta yesterday and so far so good. no problem or slow down, or even better performances; but that’s because all the updates addressing the performances issues in the SP2 beta are already available through windows update.

didn’t have much time to look more… just noticed that installing the sp2 did not break the activation crack.

Only newbie hates vista. They just dont know how to do workarounds to run vista the way they like it and perhaps they dont have the right hardwares to run vista smoothly.
Thats how I see why people hates vista.

What you mean no drivers for Vista?
Afaik there is NO drivers that Vista doesnt have that XP does.
Specially Vista x64 vs XP x64.

There was a reason for Microsoft abandoning XP x64 and going directly on the Vista x64 support.
(No, there is no XP x64 support. Only x86.)

And that computer werent much to brag about.
a VERY old processor that they stopped selling a few years ago. and 8gb of memory with those specs?

Then all you have is a glorified WinXP.

To those who said set up vista right and you’ll never get another virus – thats what ive been like with XP – no viruses.

The only good thing i see about vista is DX10 and even then it isn’t all worth it.

I rarely get a BSOD with XP x64, I personally hate vista due to no drivers for pretty much anything. SP1 doesn’t make vista better. I still haven’t bothered with SP3 as i see no point.

And before anyone says about my computer

actually i have only had one BSOD in Sp1 and that was due to some glitch with vmware trying to load windows 7 6801… otherwise i have to say it is rather stable. I still prefer xp sp3 though, it is much less of a resource hog no matter what jerkoff up above says

and for the record I ran gtaiv in sp2 with a 128mb ati x1400 and it runs fairly well, if u are going to flame someone get your IT training because you obviously cant teach yourself like those of us who were hacking in win 3.0 back when YOUR daddy wouldnt let u touch his puter
