Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) RTM Available for Download

The wait is over. Windows Vista Service Pack 1 RTM is now available for download. Both the 32-bit and the 64-bit editions of the service pack are up for grabs. Microsoft confirmed the information leaked by Amazon.com at the end of the past week that Vista SP1 was going to be made available on March 18, 2008. And the Redmond company met the initially announced delivery schedule which pointed to mid-March ever since February 4, 2008 when the service pack was released to manufacturing. At this point in time x86 and x64 Windows Vista SP1 are both up for grabs either as standalone packages or through Windows Update.

“Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) is an update to Windows Vista that addresses feedback from our customers. In addition to previously released updates, SP1 will contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability, performance, and compatibility issues; supporting new types of hardware; and adding support for several emerging standards,” reads a fragment of the Vista SP1 description.

Windows6.0-KB936330-X86-wave0.exe and the Windows6.0-KB936330-X64-wave0.exe downloads weigh in at 434.5 MB and respectivelly 726.5 MB, being tailored to integrate with both 32-bit and 64-bit Vista operating systems. As Microsoft revealed following RTM, only a select few languages are supported in the March release. The standalone version of Vista SP1 can be integrated exclusively with copies of Vista RTM with these language versions: English (US), French, German, Japanese, or Spanish (Traditional).

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the operating system is available for download here.

lmfao @ all the stupid idiots with the cracked versions of windows.

SP1 WILL detect and disable any cracked version of windows if you fail to activate it properly within 15 days.

If it hasn’t been detected yet then it soon will be.

You’ll have to wait and see if any bright sparks out there have found away round this and produce another crack which microsoft don’t know about.

I wish people would do some research before making comments and judgements on this.

Why not just use a legal activation key?

Many of the machines in schools, workplaces, stores, libraries etc.. don’t have Vista installed, but when they buy a bunch of new computers it has Vista “pre installed”, but many companys/places don’t even use Vista yet, they just install/use the “old” working image of XP with all the applications and tweaks that are ready to go and working for their company’s enviroment so everything is working fine and it is easier for the admins aswell (for example banks uses this method).

This means that computers companys buy with Vista “pre-installed” has the serial code glued onto the computer somewhere (on laptops it is underneath the machine).

I have gotten literally hundreds of working keys by using this method :)

    Happy hunting!

The name: Vista Automated Activation Crack v3.0
    Platform: VISTA 6000
About the program: This master does not stop and does not block the timer, and makes official activation of system.

Data on the master of activation:
    1. Start the master of activation. Wait works of the appeared DOS-window (it can it is occupied approximately 1 minute). After processing, the master will automatically restart the computer.
    2. After reboot there will be a DOS-window which in 15 seconds, will notify you on successful activation, press a key the Blank and a window it will be closed.
    3. On the control panel choose a badge “System” and check up an activation condition.
If the system was not activated change a key of a product from the list more low according to the version which you have established:

As a computer and software programmer for a Lndon based company I know and can confirm that Bitna is sort of correct.

There two known cracks to bypass vista’s activation but sp1 will install on your system automatically and will detect pirated copies.

These two cracks are the grace timer crack which extends the grace period from 30 days to the year 2099 and the other is the OEM BIOS crack mentioned on this page by some users which modifes the system to mimic the activation done at the factory.

Both will be detected and blocked by SP1 but not necessary straight away. Some users may not see the effects until 15 days later.

This detection will only take place by this new update and NOT the previous one in february but as I said this install automatically.

I would strongly recommend to everyone to re-install the OS with a valid product key.

I will post another comment with a list of keys when I find them. I only have the keys for the business and ultimate editions as the home and home premium keys aren’t listed on microsofts technet page for some reason.

I hope this helps clear things up.

The platform is stated as build 6000 (pre sp1) whereas sp1 is build 6001.

5 hours to finish installation? You need a lot more than SP1, more like a reformat.

I have two copies of Vista that I downloaded when it first came out (for experimental purposes, Bitlocker primarily). One is supposedly the x86 retail, unaltered. The other is Vista Ultimate x86/x64 with the Dell OEM hack already integrated. For some reason the Dell OEM one no longer works even if it’s a fresh install, giving me 30 days to activate. It used to work a year ago. Very weird. Shows you that nothing is set in stone.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to find a properly working unaltered/unhacked copy of Vista with SP1 integrated in the near future, now that it’s official. I’m really interested in is testing to see if it’s finally worth paying for, which I would rather do since it’s a lot less of a hassle. Plus by paying you get a little bit more peace of mind from a security stand point. Personally I’d like to stick with XP (hard to give up after 7.3 years), but I know realistically that at some point I’ll likely have no choice but to upgrade. I mean, how many of you are still using Win98 as their main OS?

So, why have we not seen this so called warning? Why has the o/s been working for at least a month with SP1 with no issues? You know nothing other than the scaremongering in the articles. You are a fake. Oh and by the way it’s n00b, not noob. Leetay = epic fail.

Grabbed these for my Vista 32 bit machine and my Vista 64 bit machine. Both running English Vista and both with genuine Vista on them. Strange thing is that the 64 bit machine gets an error telling me that I can’t install it because of the language while my 32 bit installs fine.
    Any ideas?

    STFU ,

I don’t give a toss what Microsoft do and don’t want and I didn’t get my information from those sites.

I’m merely going on the experience many of my friends have had and the information I have been given over the past six months of beta tested SP1

If you read what I said properly then you would have seen that I stated there is no known cracks for it at the moment and not once did I say that no software is crack proof.

I don’t need you or anyone else to tell me what I already know. I have cracked many types of software over the years , mostly for my own use. Why pay for something I can make free?

Whilst we’re on the spell checking then you need to get your spelling right and learn how and when you neeed to capitalise certain words like you’re suppose to start each sentence and paragraph with a capital letter which you clearly can’t get right.

If you get off that high horse you’re on for just a minute then you’ll realise that I’m just trying to help and be informative based on the experiences of the people I know and the information I have been given.

However , all that being said I personally don’t care whether people listen to me or not and if they get lucky and nothing happens then good for them.

I’m sure it will get bypassed at some point in the future anyways.

XP SP3 doesn’t look like it will contain anything useful. Does anyone know if it will force WGA and other anti-piracy measures on users? If so then I think I’d rather keep using RyanVM’s Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack. Still get all of the latest updates and security patches, but none of the other crap I don’t need or want.

“I don’t need you or anyone else to tell me what I already know.” - Clearly you do, as you don’t seem to be able to digest the fact that many of us have Vista with SP1 working 100% with the OEM BIOS hack. So you in fact no nothing of substance other than the heresay of others and not of your own experience. I am typing this from my Vista x64 SP1 PC at this very moment. You clearly have not even installed it.

I think you also need to note the difference between spelling and capitalisation you n00b. If that’s all you can come back with in your arguement then you really are clutching at straws. Oh, and I enjoy it on my high horse, I can look down from it at fools like you.

Welp, I finally got the bloody pack installed only to find out that my OEM bios hack (the paradox one) no longer works!

Luckily, i tried the Vst.X-Free hack, and it works fine. Vista is activated, it thinks that I’m using an ASUS BIOS (Which I am, actually, just not an OEM one :)).

    Happy cracking, folks.

sp1 has a few nasties…. uberfetch(superfetch) with regback and shadowcopy work overtime… increasing boot time to over 10 mins… constant freezing.. hard dives killed so far… scizzy + sataII.

SP1 is flawed… dont bother to update… just incase you gain a few gremlins.
