Windows Vista For Dummies 2007 DVDRip XviD-FiCO

I was really surprised to see this release and my first thoughts were this must be some kind of mistake, but this is a real deal. FiCO ripped this 2007 documentary about Windows Vista and released it as a movie, which is slightly weird, as it’s more known as a classic yellowish book serie. The documentary about the shitty OS itself is really for dummies – don’t expect some advanced or super useful stuff, but if it’s the first time you stare at Aero, this might give you some help with the first steps. Classic 1 CD rip, 79 minutes runtime, full screen resolution and mono audio.

This is your indispensable guide to Windows Vista! Get all the tips and tricks of Vista with this Windows Vista for Dummies DVD. This easy to follow program gives you step by step instructions and visual demonstrations to quickly grasp the everyday tasks all Vista users need to know. Based on the bestselling Windows Vista For Dummies book, this DVD demonstrates how to navigate and organize your files; block Internet viruses and hackers; create music, photo, and movie CDs and DVDs; back up your files; and more! Join technology correspondent Omar Wasow as he guides you through getting the most out of Vista.

This was so totally nót uncalled-for.
Actually Vista is pretty straight forward nowadays after all the updates and so on. At first like with XP it was preferred to stay with the old system, but once it really gets settled, it’s pretty relaxed! :D

Very fitting, since only a Dummy would purchase or use Vista.
My last three laptops came with Vista and I quickly replaced it with XP.
Now bring on the XP haters!

Vista sucks so badly it’s not even funny – what’s amazing is the way people stuck with the system try and defend it saying stuff like ‘it’s not so bad actually’…

“My last three laptops came with Vista and I quickly replaced it with XP.”
Quickly enough to not even use it for a single day, right?

All people I ever meet saying that Vista was bad remained silent after I asked them “how long did you used it?”

I’m using it 4 months now and I dont see a single problem with it. The only thing I dont like is that Sandboxie doesn’t work anymore on x64 because of the PatchGuard.

Vista is awesome! I’ve been using it on my $1000 laptop for a year, and it works like a charm! Very responsive and no problem with low FPS in games. No BSoD’s of any kind.

Can’t believe people still stick with XP. It’s old, it doesn’t give you anymore FPS in games and it’s butt ugly.

And, Vista is straight forward from the moment you look at it. If not, then you just don’t want to adapt to the future. Stupid, in other words.

    see what I mean?

it’s quite clearly an abomination of an OS and these guys try and defend it as if it’s some kind of godsend

I stuck with Vista for a year on my high-end laptop and couldn’t believe the difference when I upgraded to a modded lightweight version of XP SP3 – since then, have done the same for about 5 other friends’ machines and they too are, to put it mildly, thrilled at the improved experience

    @12 henderson

You are both arrogant and stupid…

I run two systems, both the same spec, one with XP one with Vista (don’t ask why, but its necessary) Yes Vista takes time to get use to, and both OS have advantages over the other (I’m not some fanboy of either system) but if you find XP some great ‘pwn’ over Vista, then just don’t know how to use computers properly.

    @Lemmy

I think when you reread the tragic inanity and the internal contradictions of your post it’ll say more than I can ever could as a refutation

it’s the same argument with games consoles, people have to defend the choices they make whether good or bad – that’s why you see people sticking up for the bloated and ridiculously over-complex mess that is Vista

if you’re saying that OSX is good, or Linux, then fair point – but it’s stupid to defend Microsoft for an OS that will go down in history as one of the biggest corporate mistakes in history

Interesting. You say that standing up for Linux or OS X is fair, but how come you can’t stand up for Vista? Vista has proven itself as a steady OS that doesn’t lack any performance issues in games with SP1 (read some tests). It’s much more pretty than the XP (native and I don’t like messing with system files) and it is much more secure. Some company ran some tests between XP (SP2 and SP3) and Vista (with and without SP1) to see what OS is more secure to rootkits. None of the rootkits would even install on Vista (unless you disable UAC (which is a genious little thing)).

I can’t seem ONE good point to keep XP (unless you’re a bum who can’t afford a $750 laptop). Vista will run great on a $750 laptop, I’m running it.

    @ 7
I’m a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (that an a quarter can buy me a gumball) and work on computers, servers, etc. for a living. I’ve used Vista plenty, enough to know it sucks. If one of my programs (or my clients programs) doesn’t work (and there are plenty) then why use it for 1 day, or 4 months?
If Vista was even half way decent they wouldn’t have already created the replacement product (currently called Windows 7) which was on this site available in a beta download months ago.
Vista is this decades version of Windows ME. Another poorly designed OS by Microsoft.
I love Microsoft OSes, but Vista (and ME) sucked.
Also enough with the 50 million different versions; Vista Home, Vista Home Premium, Vista Home Cappuccino, enough already. XP Home and Pro was bad enough, now Vista has like 6, 7 or 8 different versions. Lame.

“I run two systems, both the same spec, one with XP one with Vista (don’t ask why, but its necessary)”

Please tell us why you own two identical systems, one with Vista and one with XP?

I’m guessing because the Vista system has at least one thing it can’t do, thus the reason for XP?

  36. b00bn00b
    September 18th, 2008 | 18:16

If you want a “pretty OS” get a Mac.
If you can’t afford to buy a pretty Mac, get Vista.
If you actually do work for a living and need an OS that will run corporate applications, get XP.

OK, I’m done, I’m going to go punch somebody now who likes Vista…or I’ll rape a Mac user, they’re so pretty and vulnerable (even the men).

    September 18th, 2008 | 18:17

I use audio hardware a lot and eventually had to change to XP because there were so many crazy issues with audio software not running under Vista and also drivers (which is still a persistent issue)

so after making the change, the nightmare was over and it was like being able to breathe again (and I’m not saying that XP is the best OS ever either)

  38. Firedeimos
    September 18th, 2008 | 18:53

Yeah, XP is the way to go! NOt! Why do people insist on this matter?! Xp its not better than Vista! See things this way, vista is so advanced that most of the old a crappy drivers do not work, it requires more well structured and new coded ones! You can see it in a thousand different views, still Vista IS a step forward in OS development (for MS ones). I’m technician longer than most of you remember Win ME! Vista SP1 leaves XP sp(whatever) in a dark corner, who likes a fisher price look?! Vista is a little bloated i must admit, but must of you have tons o apps that don’t even use! “Oh look i have Adobe CS3 MC” big what, whats the point of having an aged product? Remember that xp till sp2 had a *million* major flaws?! why don’t you vista haters get a decent thing to do rather than flame a decent os? “hey look i have 4gb of ram, and i only use 1.5gb with xp” yeah real smart! Spend money on a over bloated dimms so you wont use it! well enough for me, if you guys think that xp is the way to go, then go ahead! Its that kind of thought people have when something new and shiny appears. Dumb who says I’m a computer expert and vista sucks! Not fully grown yet are we?

31337 – was with you until you said ‘I don’t like messing with system files’ and you like UAC ?? – working in the security field, looking after customers, UAC is good as it stops some things running. But to someone who has used computers for a long time, its the most annoying thing on the planet.

Ive just moved to Vista as built a new PC and its fine. Few annoyances and still trying to find things, but its not too bad in its current state.

Not sure why people hate it so much, suppose I felt quite similar trying to get used to it.

IT Pros. probably dont like it as its made their job harder – need to learn more to get it to do the same thing etc. and some software doesnt work on it. Fair enough.

Other haters havent tried it (hate it to pretend they know wtf they are taking about (wierd))

Vista bashing aside (I’m a Linux zealot), I actually recommend MS systems for newbies. Why? Because everyone around me expects me to solve their idiotic computer problems. Instead of trying to figure it out they just come to me. Videos like this are the linux equivalent of yelling RTFM! at the top of your lungs.

yes, vista is garbage. try explaining that to someone who doest know what an OS is.

Kinda amazed how people find it fun to type out these long sentences about how bad vista is.

how about a history lesson for the children , XP was awful when it came out. WORSE than vista on release even. you people read one review of vista and think its automatically bad.

in no way am i saying XP is bad , i love it and it most likely does have small performance increases purely because its less good as a OS. its like if crysis ran on win 95 it would have better performance.

the only reason for you to not use vista is if something you need for work doesn’t work on it. or you live in a gutter and cant afford a real PC.

whether you like it or not vista is a amazing OS. so the people who are happy with that can laugh at the people who disagree for whatever moronic reason. but the same people probably think mario ect are the best games of all time , when they are clearly not. classic and good are different things.
