We used to think that Windows was a conspiracy to help sell processors and RAM. After Vista, we might be forgiven for thinking that Vista's purpose is to sell processors, RAM and replacement hard drives. The thrashing is just ridiculous, even with every possible service shut down.

Vote on the issue here :

Dude I run Vista Beta's sinds a pre-beta 1 6 months before you.

I HATE IT.

But I would prefer it over XP but only on a pc that can manage it there is just no reason why It runs like crap on my ultra modded P3 (1800 MHz overclock with a tualatin Celeron 1300 (not a shitty p4) 1.5 GB and a bloady x850 XT PE.

And I constantly has 100% CPU load.

Not acceptable on a PC that can handle Vista I will update (not upgrade) to it for the sole reason of being more secure but the most time will be spend in my dual booting Gentoo an on my OSX powerbook.

And please stop giving those Motherfockers in Redmond Cash.

Ubuntu is nice too start with but I think it's too slow (it does install 40x faster then Gentoo but wenn runing Gentoo is 3x faster)

You could buy vista upgrade dvd.You CAN install vista upgrade on blank hard disk.Put dvd in drive, and format hard drive, then install WITHOUT entering the key.Once installed perform an upgrade from WITHIN vista, and put in your upgrade key.You dont have to have a previous version of windows installed. So for example if you buy U.K. vista home premium upgrade dvd on amazon = £134.99 .Full home premium = £202.99

It's like this

Windows is good, Mac's suck a donkey's cock and makes a funny commercial, and Linux will rule the world. The only flaw with Linux is it's lack of support with games. I have to have computer games. That is why I run Windows Vista. But only for games, other then gaming, HELLO LINUX, THE FUTURE IS OPEN.

P.S. Mac users are like a fucking cult, watch how a million mac users will now attack my forum b/c of the donkey cock sucking quote from above. They will gather in masses and march in their gay parade down San Francisco, ( home of the hippy homosexuals ) and we windows and linux users will point and laugh at their ignorance and their crossdressing ways.

Kevin, you shouldn't get so defensive. Have you personally tried the "crappy bug infested P.O.S version of Vista that is downloadable on the net"? Works fine on my test rig.

And the "why did all those people get an XBox 360 or a PS3 or a Wii on release day since there were only like 5 crappy games out for each of these consoles with the exception of the 360 of course." comment? You're not making any sense.

I like the site, I'm getting less fond of the contributers.

Also, there was a reason to upgrade to XP (if you went the microsoft route) because Win9x crashed all the time. XP is stable. Mom and Pop have little reason to want to upgrade to XP. Sure OEM Vista sales will help its market share but people are going to be sticking with XP for a long long time. That's the problem with making a relatively stable, fast OS, no reason to upgrade.

Besides DirectX10 (which will come to XP eventually, after Vista hype dies down) what does Vista have that you can't use now in any other OS? It's slower than XP because it uses more cycles as it's baseline ("idle"), so you'll never be able to achieve quite as much as you could on XP. Sure it might only be 2-5% but it still counts.

Vista has a 5-10WATT IDLE power increase over XP. This means it does MORE at IDLE than XP. I'll take efficiency over "New" shit any day, thanks for playing.

Unfortunately, we are all slaves of society, economics, and technology which makes us so advanced and supreme (on earth offcourse).. Purpose of new software is to force us to buy new hardware, that force us to buy new software...and so on...

Things like OS, should be free or at least much more cheaper..
One more thing, software companies live from their consumers, and if that consumers start to boycot company products that company is doomed.. People has all the Power not Corporations

9 years ago, Bill Gates said this in a speech at University of Washington:

"About 3 million computers get sold every year in China, but people don't pay for the software. Someday they will, though. As long as they are going to steal it, we want them to steal ours. They'll get sort of addicted, and then we'll somehow figure out how to collect sometime in the next decade."

This just doesn't apply to China anymore, its for the whole world.

So please, keep pirating Windows. Re-affirm your reliance and addiction of Windows and support Microsoft's draconian DRM and "anti-piracy" implementations.

At the end of the day, if MS gets harsher, there's really no one else to blame but yourselves.

You english Sheep-shagging cunts. XP's new Service Pack 3 which is out in July 2007, will bring DRM and HDTV protection into XP. So then you dumb cunts can either stick to XP SP2, or use VISTA as XP with SP3 will have the same moronic DRM as VISTA.
