Windows Live Wave 3 Betas are available

I would assume that most of our visitors would know that, in a bid to be first, scene groups race each other to release stuff as soon as possible. Also, if you would cast your mind a while ago, you’d remember we had a poll that asked about people’s participation in testing of beta products. A healthy dose of you have voted that you throw caution to the wind to get your hand on the latest and greatest. I hope you see some form of connection there. Anyhow, yesterday Microsoft released their latest beta builds of Wave 3 products that feature the likes of Live Messenger 9.0, Live Mail, Movie Maker etc. I have to say WLM 9.0 and Live Mail are looking slick so I’ll give those 2 betas a go. You can do too since they are freely available to public. Mind you, they are still betas so it’s worth making a backup before you dive in.

Have you been drooling over the latest screenshots of Windows Live wave 3? Now get yourself in on the action. Microsoft is launching the official Windows Live Wave 3 beta today. Watcher of all things Microsoft Live, LiveSide.net has the links to the official downloads from Microsoft, that include the latest versions of Live Messenger, Movie Maker, Mail with Calendar synchronization, Writer, Photo Gallery, Family Safety and the Outlook Connector. These downloads have been confirmed as functional, and in the case of Windows Live Messenger will install “Version 2009, build 14.0.5027.908″

I’d rather pour beer into the fan grill on top of my computer tower than install this. I remember this evil & insidious MSCrap.

WLM 9 Beta is really pretty. Combined with Zune (the software) and Office 07 Microsoft has some nice things going with the design.

weird? nah, i think it just looks differently, many things seem to be copied of the new yahoo 9 beta version, like showing the pictures inside the caht window, and the whole showing contact list pictures option. but they added some nice features, the easy option to add your own mood pictures and even make them immediately with your cam, or your custom contact list sounds and the easy editing option of the sounds inside the “open file” window. also the news feature of contacts is handy. i wonder why they didnt add a floating contact on the desktop option or so.

but i thought windows was the worlds largest beta program
like it crashes, it never works, its always updated and we never have had a final version that works well without bugs, so correct me if im wrong here but that is what a beta is right?
something that dont work that needs fixing and with out our help never will right?

Hey iX. Would you look a lil closer to the page when you come on RLS.
“Also, if you would cast your mind a while ago, you’d remember we had a poll that asked about people’s participation in testing of beta products.”
“Cast your mind a while ago” “You’d remember” and “we had a poll”, I just looked and its still today the very same question.

Martin and mods, lets try to get these polls to not be on here a month at a time, limit it to say 2 – 3 weeks at a time at most for all the daily and like me, many times a day visitors. Its pretty sad that even one of the mod/editors didn’t even realize that its the same poll. I like the polls and I vote on every poll and it gets very old seeing the same crap all the time. Hope you guys change the length of these in the near future.

Jeez, people never tire of whinging at Microsoft. WLM is a cool piece of software. It’s not a small if you stop to think about all the features it has so the memory use is not that big a deal and certainly a lot less than some competing products.

Finally no one is forcing anyone to install something you don’t want to. If you like using your computer from a command line interface so much, fine stick with some form of Unix. For those of us who want to move forward, we’ll stick with Windows.

How can you guys like MSN? I’ve spent years trying to get /away/ from it; all the crapware, popups, f*king animations, etc. That being said, I do like to keep in contact with people – to do this I use meebo.com while on the go, or Pidgin (www.pidgin.im). They do what I want, and you can cut out all the crap (Pidgin has no adds!)

    Just my two cents ;)
