We all know what this is about so I don’t theres a need for me to explain…
But I will! This for “you” guys that don’t have a genuine copy, of Windows XP
and can’t download the updates from, who some would call Micro$oft. Use this tool to make your copy of Windows XP genuine which’ll enable to download the updates :) . Make sure you read the nfo!

    i had a fake xp but there have been a genuine validation out for ages as WMP11 would not be installed as it detects if xp is original or not …..so this is old

    It baffles me why anyone uses these cracks? I mean, this registry “hack” will make ANY windows xp pro corp (I have not tested others) legit.

    Don’t trust me?

    That’s fully understandable. Know how you can test it? Create a Windows XP Pro Corp virtual machine with the free VMWare server. Start it up, try to do an update, get denied.

    Copy and paste this to a file. Name the file anything.reg it doesn’t matter (I call mine wga.reg)

    Save it, run it on your VM, and watch. Everything works. I have used this reg edit for 4 years now and have NEVER had a problem. Just sharing it, there no hacks, nothing wrong with this reg file.

    Try it if you don’t believe me. Otherwise don’t say a thing.

    Do I need this? I only have XP installed in a VirtualPC and had no problems finding service packs nd stuff that i could install without Microsoft’s stupid GenChecker. I’m just wondering if this is absolutely necessary. Yes or No answer is fine plz

    The use of a VLK (Volume License Key) is better than this.
    M$ is always updating the WGA and with a VLK it says always “Genuine” on Windows Update – don’t need to wait for a cracked WGA version.

    Anyone know where i could found a valid list of VLK keys from schools, universities etc etc ?

    I’ve got my own source ;) for French version of windows but i can’t access any school which have XP or vista in english :( ….

    I believe security updates do not require wga check. Additional non-security related downloads do.

    I use XP with service pack 2 w/o microsoft updates..who needs their ass anyway? if you use IE anymore than you have to you leave yourself wide open anyway..and there are better players than WMA 11 anywhere

    I’ve never needed WGA, nor the cracks for it. Been using Win XP Pro Corp since Oct 2001. M$ still allows anyone, legit or not, to get all security updates automatically, and as for the rest of the updates/patches I just slipstream a new XP install CD whenever a fresh install is needed (using RyanVM’s update pack).

    @10 = great explanation for newbies who need to test a crack or a software.
    I would even add: take a snapshot before applying any crack and see the result. Not happy with it: reverse to the snapshot. This is why Virtual Machines are made for!!

    I usually have sympathy for newbs but c’mon guys, if you ain’t got a “volume key” for XP by now then you probably never will. How long XP been out now???….6 years or about? If you wants your warez, you gots to put in some effort too. There’s plenty of boards out there that you should have a “volume key” by now. I mean c’mon….just run a virtual machine and trial and error the keys you come across, it’s not rocket science.

    And if you just want WMP11 or IE7….WP is overrated, much better proggies out there and as for IE7…learn your lesson, you shouldn’t be using that anyways…ROFL. Two other browsers out there that are much better choice than IE, I don’t think I have to mention their names here.

    Similar question to 54.

    I have an old PC i’m giving to a friend but the copy of XP on it is already installed on another system. The person isn’t computer literate so it needs to be set up for updates.

    I’ve gotten hold of a fully legal key and wish to “re-validate” with this new key, is this possible? I’ve heard (googled) that a program called ‘Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder’ can also change your Key, anyone had any experience with this?

    Sorry if this is off topic but it seemed relevant.

    @2 I used to work for a center that took WGA calls and you would be suprised how many people need things like this just because they took there pc into a tech and were given a “free” upgrade to pro from home. Only to try and update a week later and oops. Non genuine and the tech says not my problem. Worst of it is the customer never asked for this free upgrade.

    Oh and for VLKs they arent unlimited in use and get black listed all the time for over usage or limit reached.

    my etho crack version 1.7.59 has been working for like 6 months now and I still am able to download updates and currently still use WMP11 and IE7 the etho crack was the first crack thats actually kept me using microsoft updates and continously passes the genuine check every month.
    Also if you have a fake corp version do this to change to a legit key if you have one.
    1. Click Start > Run > and enter “regedit”
    2. Go to: HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents
    3. On the right, double click on “oobetimer”
    4. Change at least ONE digit to anything other than is currently displayed.
    (This will DEACTIVATE Windows … which is a good thing!)

    5. Click Start > Run > and enter “%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a”
    (This will pull up the activation screen)

    6. Choose to Activate with a Telephone Representative
    7. At the bottom, click Change Product Key
    8. Enter the key you have
    9. Click Update
    10. Close that window, and reboot. See you soon!
    (Okay, hopefully you DID reboot, because it is mandatory in order for
    this to work properly)

    11. Click Start > Run > and enter “%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a”
    (This will pull up the activation screen again. It should now read:
    “Windows is already activated!”)

    doesn`t work 100%. After steps 1-11 windows activation was successfull but after reboot XP tells me that it is not activated and leads me to another activation dialog which tells me that windows IS already activated!? The system refuses to fully boot to windows desktop further.
    I assume the method doesn`t work if ya got a VLK version and want to change to legal one with retail key.

    I hope ETHO will make the WGA crack for vista ultimate service pack 1, and windows server 2008. Well, I know that there is a way to bypass the activation of windows server 2008, but it will also nice if you really have the WGA crack of it, am I right?
