    @17 Guest – BIOS mod if you’re confident and know what to do and are comfortable with the risks associated with BIOS mods. Software mod if you’re less experienced and don’t want to brick your computer.

    Or you can just use a chinese generated serial (like XP) from the web, pass WGA. This will work at least until SP1 comes out.

    If this locks up for anyone during the boot process try one of the other loader modes. If none of the loader modes work for you then try version 1.7.3 of the loader (google it)

    Still works w/ Windows 7. The new update to detect these types of programs is called “Windows activation technologies update (KB971003)” It is optional only, according to their official blog, so as long as you blacklist that update just like you can blacklist the WGA notification update in Windows XP, you should be good to go until something better comes along.

    If you have that update installed, Win 7 will let you uninstall it. I consider it a nuisance anyway.

    My daughter’s BIE version of Win 7 is now showing not legit nags. Tried all the different modes plus uninstalling each time and no joy. So besides being very hard to find this loader, it no longer works. Microsoft has beaten it for now.

    uninstall the windows update “Windows Activation Technologies update (kb971003)” That should fix your problem.

    Sorry that’s “Windows Activation Technologies update (KB971033)”

    Go to Windows Update -> View Update History -> Installed Updates. From there you can remove that optional update, and no more nagging.

    Oh im sorry, I just read ‘BIE’. Try using an official MS MSDN image.
