Wincopy 2007 Screen Capture v3.1.2727-EXPLOSiON

I don’t know what it is, but not very much interesting programs are being released lately. But EXPLOSiON just released a quite nice one; Wincopy 2007 Screen Capture. The versatile Wincopy Screen Capture program allows you to capture a section of the screen, edit the image and save it in one of several graphics formats, including TIFF, encrypted or standard PDF, or save it to the clipboard. The program captures outlined rectangles, freehand areas or the active window. Once captured, you can resize or adjust the captured image, mark it up with the programs many edit tools, including freehand drawing, lines, rectangles, ellipse, arrows, highlighting, white-out, black-out, color flooding, text inserts, text bubbles, eraser. Wincopy also includes print, e-mail and copy functions.

Program Highlights:

  • Easy, simple and intuitive user interface.
  • Quick selection of the capture area by simply drawing a rectangle outline with your mouse
  • Capture an irregular shape with freehand tracing of the object.
  • Capture the active window or the entire window with simple commands.
  • The captured rectangle can be re-sized (increased or decreased) at any of the four sides with pixel precision.
  • Crop sections of the image (white-out).
  • Use the Eraser to erase sections of the image.
  • Save the edited capture image in several graphics formats (BMP, TIFF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, PDF (optional password protection)).
  • Print the captured image.
  • Email the captured image with the integrated email function. The image is automatically attached to the email. The image, email data and the body text is saved for later re-use. The email can also be linked to many of the popular email clients.

System Requirements:

  • Windows 2000, XP or later
  • A reasonable amount of available memory (that’s what the site says… 512MB should be enough I guess)
  • Microsoft Framework 1.2 or later

Seems to be nothing more than a fancy “Prt Scr” button. Plus it looks like Windows 95. Is it really that usefull?

You ever tried to do a PrtSc of a video while it’s playing? Blank screen sunshine.

  5. July 4th, 2007 | 13:20

@Zep: Several videoplayers do have built-in screen capture: BsPlayer, Crystal Player, etc.

    @Zep
It doesnt say that THIS program does movie captures – so it is as good as the PrtScn button!

Also with SnagIt and Hypersnap-DX being the 2 biggest screen caputure programs around with so many functions – who would buy this when those 2 offer so much more?

  8. July 4th, 2007 | 14:11

Thought it may help out a internet/graphics developer – totally worthless. Looks like they used visual basic 95 or something to build it.
