Here is the latest Winamp, straight out of the Nullsoft labs. This time its a BETA release, and there is a mega list of changes, fixes and additions. I would suggest getting this only if your a dedicated Winamp user, and want to try their new stuff. The official changelog can be found here.

Nullsoft Winamp is a fast, flexible, high-fidelity media player for Windows. Winamp supports playback of many audio (MP3, OGG, AAC, WAV, MOD, XM, S3M, IT, MIDI, etc) and video types (AVI,ASF,MPEG,NSV), custom appearances called skins (supporting both classic Winamp 1.x/2.x skins and Winamp 3 freeform skins), audio visualization and audio effect plug-ins (including two industry dominating visualization plug-ins), an advanced media library, Internet radio and TV support, CD ripping, and CD burning.

    This version is actually quite good. There are a few kinks here and there, but I suspect that when v5.5 gets officially released, it’s going to be great.

    If you’re like me and have stopped using Winamp since they came out with v3, then you might be interested in giving it another shot with this beta version (if you want to be a tester, of course).

    well i’am windows media player 11, it’s my all in one along with meadia player classic, winamp thens to pull system resoures to me but has a very good equalizer system and the streaming channels are’nt bad either …… let the media player war of choice begin …… :-)

    @Q actually I like the look…

    Since I’ve been using the Helium Music Manager I don’t use winamp as often as before. Still I love the streming stuff and the comfortable use. I’ll give it a shot.

    Foobar2000 – small, sleek and simple not to mention efficient; plays any file, not plug-ins necessary.
    some may argue it does not have enough options but all in all it’s just a freakin music player….not like Winamp is gonna give you a blowjob on the side or anything.

    Winamp is the best media software for music, ever! Allthough, I stick to the old theme. And it’s not only the best to _play_ mp3, but also transfer music to/from iPod. Omg I love it! No god damn syncronizing with iTunes

    torrent comes in a few minutes the release only has the
    winamp55_1550_beta_full client in instead of the winamp55_1550_beta_pro client in it

    This is the best version on wimamp ever!
    Finally, the long awaite 3 pane view… with album art integrated! Wow!

    Great Job winamp team!

    PS Never liked the winamp moderm version… im still i HUGE fan of the classic winamp…
