Meh, Winamp is overrated. The only true two competitors for best media player would be VLC and BS Player. I recommend the former.
I agree, Winamp is all kinds of win. But i don’t really need anything, other than a basic player and a playlist, so i’m sticking with what i have.

Usually I’m not one to make fun of random grammatical mistakes, but this is too much.
How about this, RLSLOG: if one of your staff members doesn’t speak English well, then don’t require them to write a personal comment. CTRL-C, CTRL-V would suffice.
I prefer the old winamp 5.35, its still the best. I can’t get along with the new arrangement

I can understand EU users where WinXP CDs are sans WMplayer, but for the rest of world I don’t know why they still uses this cr@p app. Yes Winamp was a great thing like decades ago but now it’s nothing - compared to VLC & other open source/free alternatives available out there. IMO sound produced by WMPlayer is way better than Winamp. When without any DFX like plugs loaded, Windows Media Player produces the best & clearest audible notes. And no I’m not a M$ fanboy.

Some tips for the clueless.
Winamp still is the premier windows application and it shows, sure has become bloated with features but thats nothing a custom install doesnt remedy, dont need the feature dont install it! For the massive plugins system alone and the powerful library Winamp 5 is THE choise for the mp3 junkie and Itunes or the absolute crappy WMP has nothing on it. The rest of us oldschoolers worship Foobar2000 but we pay credit where credit is due and Winamp gets it for revolutionizing the PC as the media platform and popularizing the MP3. Now for some ignorant comments comparing Winamps output quality some known and lesser known players…its all in the speakers kids…dont like the default mp3 decoder of Winamp?,change it to MAD,install the ASIO output plugin,disable the crappy equalizers and enjoy hi fidelity decoding. From my personal experience with a truely hifi system and some speakers that live in your dreams, the kings of crystal clear superb definition audio players are XMPlay and Videolan, no DSP effects/no equalizers and high bitrate mp3/ogg files used, this players rule the roost, ofcourse in your current 100$ audio hardware and paper made speakers the differences would be marginal but in a 6000 dollars system the differences are not only heard but felt. best advice for you kids to enjoy hifi music is 1st, ditch your crappy 128kbps mp3’s, 2nd. work your asses off for some money and 3rd. put your hard earned money to build yourself some stellar speakers…http://www.linkwitzlab.com/orion_challenge.htm

Does anyone know if a more recent alternative to the old Winamp plugin “SneakyAmp” exists? It allowed you to use winamp using just keystrokes which means you could do it without accessing Winamp itself, while playing games for instance (e.g. you’d type “winamp play [name of song]“).
I’m still using Winamp 2.81 because I couldn’t find a replacement… yes, it’s that good/useful.

I’d like to see you capture the audio from your favourite devices and run some blind ABX tests to prove that you can hear the difference.
People, don’t believe anyone that tells you application A sounds better than application B. All decoders built into these softwares will sound the same as long as all DSPs are turned off. If they don’t, they’re broken. The 24bit MAD decoder has been ABXd at _extremely_high_ listening volumes. Not particularly interesting under normal listening conditions.
As far as mp3 players goes, I go for Foobar2000:
File renaming and moving (very powerful and very handy).
Replaygain support.
File convertor support for many formats.
ABX utility.
Tagging.
Simple interface.
For those that have pro already in 5.53 just go to download page for 5.54 and there is a link for those with pro to upgrade. works
stupid question, but how i compare the 3 unzipped files? I tried with hjsplitt, then just ad the .exe to the file, but not working. Tried with 7zip but dont work eather..

Dear friend, seems you misunderstood the whole point i made, ofcourse the differences of the different decoder implements are miniscule on common hardware as i had already stated but not so on precision hifi equipment, almost all the sudden nuances come to light definately after some extended listens, but are there, all it needs is some time for the ear to accomodate and retrain at all the new information exposed, this is ofcourse with great recordings with no engineering defects. In the end its only about enjoyment and not masturbating about technical characteristics, but if you are after the best within reason ofcourse it pays to give some attention to your signal path, a little here and there,all accumulate in the end.

Does anyone have any advice as to why my keygen won’t work??
Have shut AV down but when I try to extract keygen it says that the file cant be located in a DLL file. I then searched for this file and its something to do with Norton…which isnt a cracked version…

This is a scene release people. It’s clean. Nikola can’t help that your AV programs see keygens as viruses. Many current AV’s misidentify keygens as malware. I run NOD32 and this was clean. However even NOD has the option of scanning for what it calls “hack tools”. I turn that option off.
Think about it. How long would CORE last in the scene if they released viruses? Get real.
