Willow 1988 iNTERNAL DVDRip XviD-VCDVaULT

A movie almost 20 years old release by VCDVaULT, a release group that I never heard of, they release this old film staring young Val Kilmer in 2 CD’s, so I think that the quality will be very good. This is an adventure/fantasy film created by the man behind Star Wars. The film was nominated for 2 Oscars back in 1989 and one of the was the category of “Best Effects”. Some of you will like to watch this and some “like me” will pass this. Enjoy!

Based on a story by STAR WARS creator George Lucas, WILLOW is director Ron Howard’s fantasy world of medieval adventure. WILLOW stars Val Kilmer as Madmartigan, a swashbuckling warrior, and Warwick Davis as the title character. In a mythical kingdom, the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh) plots to kill all infants so that the newborn princess, Elora, will never take over the throne. But a midwife sets the baby adrift in a river, and she is rescued by Willow, a farmer in Nelwyn, a peaceful village of trolls, fairies, and little folk. Willow and Madmartigan begin a quest to deliver the baby from evil while being chased by Queen Bavmorda’s daughter, Sorsha (Joanne Whalley), sent to bring the baby back to Nockmaar.

Director Howard benefited from his affiliation with George Lucas on the film Lucas’s company, Industrial Light and Magic, contributed the Oscar nominated special effects. Lucas, the executive producer of WILLOW, went on to create a series of books based on the world of WILLOW, the SHADOW WAR series.

Well Mike I have to agree with guru, wth you dont know VCDVaULT :o Unlike Guru made you believe it is not a IRC release group but was a major divx group a very long time ago in the scene.

Never heard of VCDVaULT? Forget IRC channels, they have been releasing DivX/XviD forever – I still have their versions of “X-Men” and “The Matrix”.

It’s just that nowadays they’ve backed off from doing high-profile releases and are mostly doing internal releases of whatever they feel like doing. But afford them respect – they’ve been around longer than most.

Nando from VCDVaULT created Nandub and Smart Bit Rate Control for Xvid which revolutionized the quality of downloadable movies. vV also forcefully introduced classic dvd rips into the ’scene’ which were not accepted at the time. Although vV was originally more of a social group and probably continues to be so today, it also contained a subgroup of hard-core sceners and technical persons from very senior walks of life (related to media or technology) who believed that “information wants to be free”. Many seasoned and illustrious members of vV went on to found or lead new/old groups in the scene … some of which are leading groups today.

Not as rich a history as the old cracktro scene, but definitely should be recognized and respected for their contributions and hard work.

Props to vV! Live long and prosper

Well I have to say as an original founder of VCDVault WAY back in the day that i’m glad to see people still remembered us hehe

I left for a short period and everything changed so drastically that I ended up just walking away.

wow! that was a LONG ASS time ago HAHAHAHA Stryker I think the other guys name was … anyone confirm or deny? *shrug* so much time…so many parties LOLOL

We rocked everyone back then…every now and then people would split off and try to make their own groups etc… (EX: DivXDungeon) which let to IRC wars server vs server LOLOL weeeeeeeeeee

    good times good times

I remember Stryker. That was during the fserve wars era (wish I had the logs). Unfortunately or fortunately, vV started getting ambitious in scope with more “professional” management hehe.

IRC Server wars were fun. vV was so big, Servers were courting us to join because of the increased traffic. vV had a chance to pioneer the torrent scene too .. sigh.

Those were greatgeek days … aside from my C64 and Amiga days (nothing beats that).

DrDank, did you realize that some vV members were corporate leaders or leading professionals of their time? I’m sure, many are Directors/ VPs at technology, entertainment and management consulting firms today. ^_*

Hi, I’m new to this and don’t know how to get the movie? There are no links available, I can’t use bit torrents or rapidshare to download stuff, can use filefactory. So any help on downloading the movies here will be highly appreciated
