A rather bad comedy Why Did I Get Married was released in the final dvdrip without a bigger buzz by DMT. It’s no wonder, this movie is really not funny at all and 3.2 points at IMDB just confirms that. Who said anything about this being a comedy? Um, the reason it isn’t funny is because it isn’t suppose to be. It’s a drama with some comic relief because the movie gets very heavy emotionally. Check it out for yourself before trusting the 1 minute review.

Here’s the problem: There is a long list of legitimate criticisms of this film. However, you cannot do so without being called a racist. I don’t tell other people that you can’t enjoy this movie (I hope you do!) or that you can’t say it is a great film (you just might!), so please don’t stop me from saying this movie is, taken on par with every other movie, completely awful.
Now, the problem with black cinema. There are very few films made entirely of African-Americans. Therefore, it stands to reason that the probability of making a critically successful movie is very thin. Just as if there were only a handful of white movies each year, the odds would be the same.
To be frank, it must be hard to make it in Hollywood as a black director. You have to conform to a certain, small box of what someone else defines as African-American. Imagine how easy it would be to get another “Barber Shop” movie green-lit. Now consider the odds of an unknown black director trying to make a more serious drama that doesn’t involve a backyard Barb-B-Q or a comedy involving goofy rap stars pimping out an airplane.
Just my 2 cents.

Ive been using this site for quite sometime and it never fails, the racist commentary used here. I was waiting for this film to be released and some of you folks are predictable, I said to myself just wait they will rate the film as bad, bad mouth Janet Jackson, then talk about how much this film is crap. Let’s not forget the fact the movie cost 12 million to make yet pulled in over 50 million in box office, or forgetting the fact that this film is targeted to a black audience and the humor in it at times is culturally specific, someone said that you guys post the American Pie films and the like all the time but because its a white comedy its funny. Personally I think the way this movie was marketed and rating was wrong.On a interview Tyler Perry compared this movie to The Big Chill. To me the subject of this movie should have been R rated and not PG-13 because I do not think teenagers would want to see this type of movie even with a all white cast. A couple of Post above talked about American Pie. I believe the reason American Pie was popular is because of its R rating. I don’t think anybody would have seen it if it was made PG-13 and all the good jokes and nudity was taken out.

Tyler Perry is without question a great writer and this film is great. Since when do you trust IMDB, the Academy, Joeblo, RottenTomatoes…etc for that matter for quality cinema?
