The boarding of another vessel and his saying that he's disappointed that his crew doesn't want to give their life for a whale says he isn't the most reasonable person. The second point about Watson is that whilst he may be cavalier about his own life he goes to great lengths to ensure others are safe. All the years he has been out their ramming fishing boats to save nearly extinct whales or decimated fishery stocks, no person has lost their life.
