#10, point 2: I disagree with this. Just because there is a WYSIWYG editor out there, that doesn’t meant that it will be reducing the need for web developers. WYSIWYG editors can’t do what an actual programmer can do. There’s no need to get all pissy over this.

That said, I don’t really see anything special about this program. They all look the same to me. The WYSIWYG editors are all just … crappy.

#17 I know how to hand code, and you are apparently missing the point i am making. Just because you use a WYSIWYG editor doesnt mean anything. You can still hand code in all html editors that i have seen. The point that i am trying to make is you dont have to be some badass “look at me i encode entire websites with notepad”, the fact of the matter is that WYSIWYG editors save time and you can still code by hand for the parts you want to and use templates or the smart command typing feature whenever you need to.

sorry for the outburst, ppl that are douchey and have no idea what their talking about kinda get me going… anyhow i checked this program out and like i said its very simple.. but also very minimal and restricted as far as what you can do… better off teaching yourself dreamweaver or using a combination of programs to get ya going.. thats what ive done…BAUER is a DBAG!!!

@#16: They shouldn’t move to php, java, asp or whatever after using a WYSIWYG editor. They should start with learning HTML, and perhaps then some CSS. It’s not hard, HTML is very simple. You don’t need any advanced scripting at all.

That idea of “notepad and an 800 page manual” is what all the WYSIWYG-users seem to believe. They think it’s too hard so they don’t even try. WYSIWYG is not the answer, you’re not learning anything except how to click and drag. That’s what people need to realize.

People need to realize that not everyone is k1337 and can write an entire webpage with notepad and internet explorer. People have to start somewhere. Once they realize how limited they will be with WYSIWYG editors, THEN they can move on to learning php, java, asp or whatever other type of scripting or content management they decide to implement.

WYSIWYG editors are a great way to introduce more people into web development, because the fact of the matter is if it is just notepad and a 800 page manual then the web would be full of douchebags……wait maybe we are too late !

I agree with #10, on part 1 that is. Rlslog keeps posting more and more crap releases. It’s no longer that much different from being a simple list of releases like nforce.nl, including the crap. I liked how rlslog used to post about only the useful and interesting stuff.

And seriously, don’t use this shit program. We don’t need more crap websites on the internet. :/ If you really want to create a site, learn how to do it.

If only crappy designed sites weren’t the main part of the internet, browsers would be forced to better their support for standards faster, we’d have a web-technological boom. This kinda crap holds us back.

1. I did read the review, although I don’t know why I visit anymore. The site is getting sloppier and sloppier.

2. Too many people want to make web sites using awful software like this, and web sites such as MySpace and Facebook. This is taking away all of the business for true web designers who have spent their lives learning the skills they know, for people to step in and make it far too easy for people to code.

3. ‘whatever’ @ spyaustin.com — nice site, it looks like you really got used to the ‘Web Page Maker v2.5′ and have a site up already. Nice going.
