I bet HiDef lovers were waiting for this release of Watchmen in 720p (or 1080P eventually). I have not seen this movie yet, because I’m going watch it now in pure HD on 40″ LCD. :P Keep in mind this is not Director’s Cut version.

Plot: “Watchmen” is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the “Doomsday Clock” – which charts the USA’s tension with the Soviet Union – is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion – a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers – Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity… but who is watching the Watchmen?

    The movie wasn't awful, but it did miss the "feel" of the original comic. They got the visuals right, but the characters didn't feel right. The Director's Cut fixed that a little bit but not enough.

    Ultimately if I want to relive the story, I'll re-read the comic or I'll watch the motion comic that they released.

    absolutely no reason to download this since the DIRECTOR´S CUT blu-ray will be out soon as well

    who would prefer a cut version in the first place ???

    typical studio strategy….first release the actual cut-down version so that at least a few morons but it and then release the director´s cut so that those morons buy it a second time

    I don't get this, the Theatrical Cut will only be released on DVD, while the Director's Cut will be released on both DVD or Blu-ray.
    So this is either upscaled from DVD or that the Blu-ray also includes the possibility to choose the shorter Theatrical Cut.
    If it's from the BD, then it should be less than 12 hours until the Directors Cut will be released in HD, because it should be on the same BD.

    I suppose those expecting your typical super-hero movie and some purists won't like this movie. Also, the many references to historical people, places, and things will be lost on some of the youngins out there. And the blue guy was a d*ck. But I liked it enough to buy it…

    I for one loved the movie! Its rare these days to find such background and detail on each character. Most comicbook movies are for little kiddies and usually rated pg-13 or less. Have you ever seen wolverine hack at someone to bloody pieces? or cyclops blast a mutant in half? Exactly. The nudity and sex scene in Watchmen add another A+ to it. The 3hrs 5min make it worthwhile…in the directors cut, that is.

    I too was disappointed then this is normally my genre. this mvie was a complete bore. I couldn't wait to get out of the cinema. all those nice effects, a weak plot , a mediocre cast , and the film was way too long. An empty shell. I wonder hwy much money Hollywood grossed with it.Its a straight to DVD mess IMO

    The movie is pretty bad… i watched the 1st release( the 2 disc one) i enjoyed part 1, but part 2 was terrible, and after the world is saved… the movie drags on for eternity

    no way i want to waste 8gb of bandwidth if its STILL not the dc, especially as it doesn't even sound like a great movie looking at these comments!

    "Watchmen (2009) DC DVDRip AC3 XviD-LTRG" looks like a 3 cd directors cut at 2.05gb but i can't find any torrents.

    maybe i'll just go get the 2cd dc, but the quality must suck.

    ..transformers 2 had action in it every 5 minutes but there are depressed people thinking it sucks…..now watchmen had less action and more story/character developement…..and the same depressed sorry people again "nooo bwwaaahh it sucks its soooo boooring bwwwaaaaahh"

    …face it, there are no movies making you happy if youre such a depressed sorry a$$…and hell even if i really think a movie is THAT bad….i wouldnt come here just to rant about it coz its just a movie, i rather rant about sorry depressed farts with no life who spend 24/7 in here ranting about everything

    Transformers was an amazing movie, really entertaining! Watchmen wasn't entertaining at all (except for the music choice). Waste of time if you ask me.

    "I too was disappointed then this is normally my genre. this mvie was a complete bore. I couldn't wait to get out of the cinema. all those nice effects, a weak plot , a mediocre cast , and the film was way too long. An empty shell. I wonder hwy much money Hollywood grossed with it.Its a straight to DVD mess IMO"

    geez, ain't here really more than 3 grown up people on this site? if you don't like the movie, why do you whine about it instead of watching your immature Transofmers crap? give me any site where Transformers 2 stands better in ratings than Watchmen and maybe I'll say that T2 is worth watching (which is not, I fell asleep 2 times in these 3 boring hours).

    Transformers is a blockbuster scoring in young teenagers eyes for its clueless endless action, tough super-hero "I saved the world again" lines and ultra "hot" wannabe-actresses (which i wouldn't touch with a sixty-foot pole). But under the shell there's nothing worth watching actually. I must agree that the technical part of a movie was fascinating, but I'm not watching a movie for its FXs or some mindless action scenes, cause any studio can do the same and there's a fu*k load of these films today. I appreciate lack of action and some psychology in this movie and as a reply to you kids – I bet I was more boring watching T2 than you did with Watchmen.

    ok ok this whole transformers 2 vs. watchmen is getting me in the mood to throw in my thoughts as well:

    transfomers 2: just good ole mindless action fun with characters you just dont care about…actually the only beings i cared about were the autobots…so yes i have to say i really liked that movie BUT the only thing annoying in this movie was actually those wannabe-sexy-shots from that "new rising female sexy-star"…..what was her name again ? yeah shes so hot n sexy i dont even remember her name.

    watchmen: good character developement, great gore-scenes, great action…yeah i understand for some people it was a little too long and at times a little bit boring but all in all its a great flick with a freshly new kind of superheroes, not the typical superhero-flick youre used to from batman and co., and the whole atmosphere in this movie was also good..someway colorful but also dark at the same time.

    I will wait for a BDRIP(1280x~550+AC3) of about 3GB of the Directors cuts. I saw this movie on the theather and I sleep whiling watching… It was quite good. But a 3 hours movie I better be at home watching it on my 42"
