Warning! Dae.bin Being Silently Updated Through XBOX LIVE

Bad news for all users using flashed Xbox360, Microsoft “released” a new silent protection. If you have an error when you want to start a game like MW3, Rage, NFS The Run or Batman Arkham City resulting an error like “Can not read disk”,that’s mean your console is flag’d by Microsoft… Stay away from XBOXlive when you are using backup disc, or use xKey…

More informations after the jump.

Update frome c4eva : “In short every game now has a unique dae.bin file and will always constantly change, which means the end of cfw and the xk3y. as soon as you log onto xbox live a silent update will flag your xbox for a ban, if you have logged on live or after nov 17th you are flagged for a ban, no way around it. only use the xk3y for playing offline. its now 100% xbox live UNSAFE.”

“First and foremost, a warning — at this current time it is advised that you stay offline and avoid playing any AP2.5/XGD3 backups. It has been confirmed by the team that the dae.bin is now being silently updated on all LIVE-connected boxes.

This update is not being deployed via a SystemUpdate or TitleUpdate, but rather occurs in the background without any visual indication or prompt to the user. As such, there is no means by which it can be cancelled or avoided, other than not connecting to LIVE. If you’ve connected to LIVE in the past 24 hours, your system has likely already been updated with a changed dae.bin.

All AP2.5/XGD3 backups that contain the now older AP25 replay data will fail the system’s AP2.5 challenges and indeed flag your system (the flagging has also been confirmed by the team).

Like our news a few days ago, the dae.bin is now being changed by way of an appended challenge table in the same manner on current retail dashes (13604) as it is on the preview dash (14686), however the content of the challenge tables differ. The team has determined that the appended challenge table appears to be unique per console and contains indentifying information. This means that everyone’s dae.bin is different, and can potentially be traced back to your specific console. Therefore, sharing your dae.bin with others is not advisable.

More info to come.”

Who gives a damn about xbox live, I’ve been playing games since the early 90s and we had no crap like that. Beside the few games such as Quake, Unreal Tournament, Age of Empires and Starcaft nobody was playing online. Its all about the game itself. C4eva should concentrate on cfw for offline only.

@24 Caden? you didn’t buy a 360 because you knew 6 years after it’s release in 2011 that you wouldn’t be able to play games online illegally anymore? oh im sure… you fucen noob… It’s got nothing to do with the 360 being a crap console… the 360′s the only decent console there is and it’s about time you tightarse povo kunts started supporting the developers, I download movies and episodes, but that’s different, a game takes a hell of alot more time and effort and money to make so start paying for them you tightarses.

    November 18th, 2011 | 12:42

Hello. I need some help and, maybe, someone can clarify me here!

I already have a good pc that I use, mainly for work. Don’t have a super mega graphic card or cpu to really enjoy the latest games!

So, I was about to buy a already hacked xbox 360 slim.

I don’t have intention to pay for “Live”, because I don’t want to play online. I just want to save some money playing some backed up games that I find here.

After the latest news, should I sit´ll buy the console? If I stay offline, can I play the latest games? Will I be able to burn and play the new games that are coming out?

Will they change the game protection right now; Mass Effect 3 and Far Cry 3 is coming out…

The only game that I’m going to buy, for pc, is ARMA 3.

    Thank you and regards,

  39. Jim
    November 18th, 2011 | 13:54

@38 Tedon, Mate if your not playing on xbox live you have nothing to worry about if you’re using a hacked xbox.. just make sure whenever you go online, if you do, that you don’t play using a backup, play using the real disc.

  40. RR ROSSI
    November 18th, 2011 | 15:08

@38 Tedon: As of right now no new games can be played if you have been online as the console updates silently.

But if you never go online with the flashed box your games will still work, Microsoft are always release new security on game disks and console updates, so if you did buy a flashed box its likely you would need to update it to the newest copied firmware sooner or later.

New CFW is released all the time, as Microsoft release some new security procedure new CFW is released.

So in the long run it would be cheaper and less hassle for you to learn how to flash your own xbox, its not hard.

All relevant tuts on how to flash and all new releases can be found here: http://www.xbox360iso.com/

@Rlslog: Your quote for C4EVA is wrong he has never said anything like what you quoted.

We chose to stay off live when XGD3 discs started until ABGX became updated to verify discs, by staying off live we avoided the silent update, our burnt game discs are STILL PLAYING just fine on lt 2.0 , our decision to wait for ABGX has paid off, C4eva says on his web site http://c4evaspeaks.com/ that he is working on a fix for the rotating bin updates, everyone should just wait for the modders to figure this out, LT-MAX on the liteon ihas124-B drives are burning games full size 8.5 gigs onto verbatim discs perfectly also,

“In short every game now has a unique dae.bin file and will always constantly change, which means the end of cfw and the xk3y”

You mean m$ actually succeeded? They couldn’t fix Blue Screen of Death or RROD for so many years but they managed to stop “piracy”… This is the perfect example of they *could actually fix things but they would fix it only if it were in their interest… M$ peddled half broken xbox 360s to millions of unsuspected consumers worldwide for years, in essence stealing people’s money. It is quite laughable that now M$ points finger at the consumers that they stole the money from and call them pirates and thieves. I would like to know how many millions of xbox 360s broke due to RROD? (Electronics breaking down at this rate was unheard of until M$ gave us xbox 360). This gentlemen is injustice! Just like any other multinational corporation, they are truly criminal! OCCUPY Microsoft!

  45. Any Mouse
    November 19th, 2011 | 09:12

I wouldn’t say that Microsoft succeeded at stopping software piracy. They’ve only stopped modders from enjoying the benefits of Xbox Live (temporarily). This has been happening about every year (right around November, too) for at least three years. Modders get hit with a ban wave, crackers (well, really just C4Eva) goes back to the lab, and everything gets set right after a few days, weeks, or in the last cycle, months. Regardless of who said what where, someone will probably find a way around this. Even if they don’t, there’s enough value in applying the JTAG mod to an Xbox 360 to lessen the importance of full Live access…As it was on the OG Xbox.

All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

  46. beastaaye
    November 19th, 2011 | 10:19

@44 N3S4ever, Please explain to me how have Microsoft stopped piracy? This has been happening for the past 6 years havn’t you heard of updating the firmware? No Company or anyone anywhere will stop piracy… I give it a week and a cracker somewhere will have found a workaround for this just like it has been happening since the 360′s release.. so sit back relax and wait.. And also You noob Microsoft hasn’t been stealing peoples money for years, The rrod problem was fixed in like 2007, and even when they were shipped out and 1 in 3 rroded, they were shipped with MINIMUM 12 months warranty, which covered that, stop you’re Occupy microsoft bullschit, if you have a problem with Microsoft or 360′s then don’t buy one or don’t buy there products simple.

Actully theres all ready a work around 36hrs this happend
all you need is a USB hardrive and its all good im still playing syrim and Saints row 3 and MW3 all off line if i wanted to play online right now i could on xlink!
m$ Can’t stop this there too many talented crackers out there
All this has done is made me buy a Jtag so if anything its made things worse for them as now if i get banned i can unbann myself!
i think banning “pirates” off XBL is stupid anyway as its the only way M$ is making money off them not to mention all the XBLA games we buy.
in a worse case scenario i would just buy a secound hand xbox for £40 re flash and play online with my gamertag
i laugh at the whole thing

Even if you had RROD it was so easy to take the box to the modders and they repaired it for 10 bucks , cooling fans, motherboard repairs were so easy, the box always came back from the modder running better than before,, we have enjoyed many years of excellant gamming due to C4eva’s wonderful work, Our xbox is still playing XGD3 games just fine, and we are burning 3 more games today thanks to releaslog, its panic and hysteria that causes more problems than anything else, As soon as the new firmware is released every one will be gaming just like we always do!

iXtreme LT 3.0 is coming – DAE/AP25 Gets The Silver Bullet!
    >> From team-xecuter.com:
We just had a development meeting with C4E and he dropped a bombshell. Thanks to the recent silent DAE update he has been able to discover how to hit DAE/AP25 with the “Silver Bullet” and has developed iXtreme LT 3.0 which defeats DAE/AP2.5 reliance COMPLETELY.

LT3.0 will make DAE bins and AP2.5 checks obsolete, releaseing lt3.0 after dec 6th allows coverage any changed microsoft makes as well in the fall dashboard update, we are only 3 days away,, so be patient, until then
