Folk, i’m back again. And I have a nice release for my ‘comeback’: War, released by SEPTiC in 720p BluRay. Does this movie really needs an intro? Just download it :D

After his partner Tom Wynne (Terry Chen) and family are killed apparently by the infamous and elusive assassin Rogue (Jet Li), FBI agent Jack Crawford (Jason Statham) becomes obsessed with revenge as his world unravels into a vortex of guilt and betrayal. Rogue eventually resurfaces to settle a score of his own, setting off a bloody crime war between Asian mob rivals Chang (John Lone) of the Triad’s and Yakuza boss Shiro (Ryo Ishibashi). When Jack and Rogue finally come face to face, the ultimate truth of their pasts will be revealed.

    As much as I enjoy HD rips, MKV files are a pain to convert and burn to play on DVD players. Is there a decent rip in standard definition? I downloaded one but it was blurred in the nude scenes, and in violent scenes.

    Why would you download a 720p movie and downscale it to dvd, why would you not just get the dvdrip, this is a hddvd or bluray rip, meant for people who wish to play HD content, if this is not what you want to do then dont get it.

    wow. four and a half gigs. nice enough to fit on a dvd. for all that think this will play on your dvd player, forget it. your dvd player does not have the processing power nor the codec to play it.

    my question is, what size did the movie start with? arnt these movies 30gigs to begin with? h.264 looks shweeet on my screen, but i worry about compression and artifacts. I have not seen any yet, but can someone explain how h.264 vs HD works? also, the widescreen ratio seems to leave large black bars on my dell widescreen LCD. Is there something I am missing?

    A.Bundy. Not that i expect you to check back on this, nor will I, but if you want the original quality version, go buy the damned movie. This is for people who want to transcode it at a higher rate of quality. The h.264 has more high quality data than a 700 or even a 1000 meg Xvid rip. It does not comare to the full blue ray version.

    Myself, i’m downloading this version to transcode to a regular DVD because the only other download is a 700mb xvid rip. With the fast action and long running time, it just wasn’t good enough.

    thanks for the info sean. i guess the blue ray is 1080p, but i am not complaining about the quality. its just odd that something that fits on a dvd is HD! i guess the compression is top notch with x264.
