I have been meaning to watch this movie. The film belongs to a rare genre called “animated documentary”. The animation is unique with its dark colors to represent the tone of the film. It utilizes a combination of rotoscoping, and computer animation to capture the realism of the setting and people. IMDb rates it high along with many other sites as well. You wouldn’t want to miss it. Subs are added and messary as it’s in Hebrew.
One night at a bar, an old friend tells director Ari about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 vicious dogs. Every night, the same number of beasts. The two men conclude that there’s a connection to their Israeli Army mission in the first Lebanon War of the early eighties. Ari is surprised that he can’t remember a thing anymore about that period of his life. Intrigued by this riddle, he decides to meet and interview old friends and comrades around the world. He needs to discover the truth about that time and about himself. As Ari delves deeper and deeper into the mystery, his memory begins to creep up in surreal images.

can’t agree with you more. Yet this film as won it’s place out there at Cann festival (and then the golden globe and probably the oskar) also because it has taken a certain side that Europe wanted to hear.

And for David 4 – you are right but maybe you haven’t seen the movie or know the history as well… the second thought was not by the Israeli soldier who killed a baby but by an Israeli soldier who couldn’t stop a Christian militia soldier of killing Muslim families.

Thank you. A very haunting and grim story of our history. The animation moved the documentary to another level. Toward the end the images are very graphic and disturbing. Real life should never be this way. Enjoy the life you have.
If this is propaganda it must be anti-israeli propaganda and not the other way around.
This movie is about individual soldiers and their experiences, I can't remember a single instance when they said "this is good" or "this is bad", they are simply relating a story and letting the viewers make their own judgement.
Pro tip: Watch the movie before you decide what it's about.
