ConvertXtoDVD gets updated pretty fast (and cracked too). This is “h” build of version 2.2.3.258. Also, version 3 is coming soon, you can check some previews here.

Description:

ConvertXtoDVD is a video converter software to convert and burn your videos to DVD. With ConvertXtoDVD and a few clicks you can backup your movies to DVD playable on any home DVD player.

ConvertXtoDVD supports most popular formats such as AVI to DVD; Mpeg, Mpeg, Mpeg4, MP4, VOB, WMV, DV and stream formats to DVD. It converts your files into a compliant DVD Video set of files and burns it on a DVD media. The ConvertXtoDvd does not need an external AVI codec download. It uses its own AVI codecs.

The aspect ratio can be automatically selected or forced to a specific format. The program works for NTSC and PAL video formats and creates chapters automatically. Multiple audio tracks are supported. Version 2 uses a completely rewritten interface with subtitles support and a lot of new settings.

Question, this is the only program I know that will burn MKV files. Now, I have SHREK 3 in a HDDVD file, mkv file. If I burn Shrek 3 using this program onto just a DVD5 disc, will I lose the quality of the HD? If it does lose the quality, is there any way that I can burn using this program where it does not lose the HD quality? Help, anybody. Thanks, Tron.

    @7 tron

to burn a mkv to a dvd5 for a player to tv,,it needs to be transform to a vob file
so each time you do a video conversion there is a loss of quality,no exception
    with ConvertXtoDVD,,

tmpgenc does transform mkv to mpg2 compatible format for a dvd structure

Thanks, Robespierre, for that clarification. I just bought a Toshiba HD DVD Player. I can’t believe you can’t burn HD rips and have HD Quality. Oh, well. I guess a converted MKV file to VOB file is still better than a standard DVD rip in quality.

    November 17th, 2007 | 19:29

@ tron you have a new hd dvd player, my answer is different then

hd-dvd supports mpg-2 and mp4,in theory it should play mkv directly
but how,i cant answer you on that,it depends on the player and the mkv
    structured

maybe someone else can answer on this,,

    November 25th, 2007 | 21:48

Every person that converts XVID/DIVX to MPEG2 is a stupid noob! You loose quality and also quantity! For example ripping a DVD with XVID => 700Mb good quality and with MPEG2 =>1,4Gb the same quality!
OH! And the person that convert a HD-DVDrip to standard DVD quality is the most stupid! LOOOOL! In fact they give the NOOB word whole new meanings!

  36. anon
    November 29th, 2007 | 12:06

If you use the right settings you lose very little quality from a standard DIVX/XVID encode and you gain the ability to play the files on any dvd player. Great for people who can’t be bothered connecting their PC to the TV or don’t have a PC. I use this to convert to dvd and give to friends and family.

Guys, I tried this software and it runs fine. But the problem i have here whenever it gets to the last part, it distort.. Fuzzy-scratching images just like the old VHS kind of thing. The thing is I’m quite new to this, maybe i have wrongfully set it all up. But all part from the start is all GOOD tho..except for the near last part.. I have 1G DDR mem,256mb inno3d vcard,AMD Sempron 3000+,250G Seagate HD. Maybe i just missed the config?help pls..

Try uninstalling the app and then reinstalling and run it again. also, install it on another machine and see how it works on that one.
