Well guys i have to say that ive been using intervideo dvd creator 4 bout 4 years now and its a great prog. I convert any xvid in bout 35 min. with a nice menu and extras .Only backdraw is that u can only add the the movie with the subs permantely attached , but i do this with virtualdub and takes bout 25 min more .As to the quality issue everyone shud know that if u start with good quality u will end up with good quality.If its crap quality of course no matter wat ya do it will be crap.

wow what a heated debate. (ok not a debate more like a flame fest

I understand both sides. I agree with mr (i saw the moon landing) in his technological side of the argument.

however

I also see and understand why people do use this this software (i have to be honest i even admit to using this myself when i cant be arsed to sort out a family member and there DVD player (standalone) is not up to the job anyways!!

So i guess in esence the story is = Do what ever you fuuuuckin want. Who is anyone to call anyone a moron for using a perticular bit of software ??

Sorry if this is a silly question. If I put a DIVX/XVID quality movie on to a DVD will still have the same quality of the original DIVX/XVID on the new DVD burned image…

obladee oblado whatever the fuck your names is 80% off dvd players can play xvid thats bullshit for starters i dont know where you stay but no standalone dvd players play xvid,you wanna play xvid you gotta by a divx player or a divx compatible dvd player which if anyone has’nt got is handy for quickness to watch any format burn st8 to disc.One more thing you’re good at telling people what they should/should’nt be doing or software they should/shoud’nt be using why dont ya come here and tell us a better way of watching avi etc.. on are dvdv players wise ass!

oblodo, let me see if I’m following your short string of “logic”: Anyone old enough to have watched the moon landing is a moron? Is that right?

Well, that puts me squarely in the “moron” category. On the other hand, at least I’m old enough to have learned some manners. I also appreciate that different situations call for different tools. A piece of software is just a tool. It is not an IQ test, not to most of us anyway.

If I want to drive a paneling nail I don’t reach for a sledge hammer. Now, it could be that some people don’t use hammers enough to know that. That doesn’t mean they are “morons”. If your purpose is to teach people the difference, you don’t start out by insulting their intelligence.

Perhaps you should examine your reason for posting. Is it to educate or are you trying to make yourself feel superior by insulting people?

And another thing I am wondering: what is a “smart guy” like you, who obviously only likes higher quality reproduction, doing on a website that primarily links to avi files?

Of course people get pissed if you call them a moron. A lack of knowledge or being a noob doesnt make you a moron! You can educate without come across like a smarmy twat! It does sound like you know your shit about technology. Personally I prefer women!
Even if I bought a Xvid compatible dvd, I have friends who might want to borrow movies, and its a real hassle lending out my dvd player!!

Anyway if you do have any useful info, which I’m sure you do, say it like an adult.
