VoipStunt – call for free now !
I have just discovered something awesome. After Skype and VoipBuster, there’s another client for voice over ip telephoning. It’s called VoipStunt and authors offer FREE CALLS right now. These calls are limited to landlines in almost all bigger european countries and some offshore countries too, including USA, United Kingdom, Netherlands or Germany. You can’t call to mobile phones and you can’t call to these non-free countries without buying credits (or you can buy these credits, its still much cheaper than with your normal provider), but if you have some friends in Free-list countries, don’t wait for anything and try this great application. GUI is similar to Skype or any other call-app, so you can’t have a problem with this. Hurry up, its limited

Same as Voipbuster, sipdiscount and all the other companies belonging to Finarea from Switzerland. Always same concept: In the beginning many free countries and then they narrow down to 2 or 3. Additionally, the amount to be paint to participate in their unlimited “beta testing” rises from 5 to 10Euros. Voipbuster started off about a year ago with 1 euro. After 180days your deposit is gone, no matter wether you’ve called only free destinations or ones you have to pay for.
IAX protocoll isn’t supported anymore, only sip.
yeah, thats right, also the interface of voipStunt looks pretty same… its still much cheaper than with normal landline, but SkypeIn is probably better option
I tried that proggy last week after hearing from a friend of mine from Germany about this proggy. he said it will let you talk for 1 min. but when I tried to call to USA it hangs me up after 10 seconds. so all those free calls are not worth trying!
10 seconds, is not worth trying at all.
[...] I just read about VoipStunt on Releaselog, and after trying it out myself, decided to write about it here. VoipStunt is a VoIP client, with a similar design to Skype, but it differs in one major way: They give users the ability to call most landlines, and even some mobile phones in quite a few countries for free! That’s right, you don’t need to sign up for a subscription service like SkypeOut or even Vonage, you can just use VoipStunt to call your friends and family for absolutely no cost! I went over to their homepage and downloaded the software, which is currently in Beta. After installation I was prompted to enter a user name and password, after which I made several calls to both a landline and mobile phone in Canada, with no problems! [...]
“Free calls to any regular landline in:
United Kingdom”
then
“united kingdom (Landline) SuperDeal! free free
united kingdom (Mobile) 18 20.88
united kingdom [0845 rate] 4 4.64
united kingdom [national rate] 10 11.60
united kingdom [personal] 18 20.88
”
this seems to suggest the company regard “regular landlines” to mean “pc to pc”
otherwise why are they charging for UK national and Personal calls?
who’s willing to pay that initial 10 euros and find out if the credit doesn’t go down ringing UK landlines?
i got one friend in Sweden and he’s using this app for calling friend there without any restrictions, all landlines & no 1 minute limit… so it probably depends on every country (or they already changed the TOS)
sounds good
OK, let me explain to you: this is a network of sites, first was voipbuster, then other followed(all belonging to the same company). At first you had to make a deposit of 1 euro to get unlimited calls to those around 20 “free” countries (at voipbuster). Then voipbuster reduced the list of free countries, but had opened another site with 20 “free” countries. So those customers switched to the new site, made a deposit. Then the new site reduced the list of free countries, but another was opened with again 20 free countries. Around September the account level had to be up to 5Euros in order to make free calls (longer than 1min). Later 10Euros, the next step was that your deposit is only valid for 120 days (or was 180?)after that it is gone, so if you only call “free” countries, they are actually not free.
Good thing is: you can use not only their software but also sip hardware e.g. sip telephone, so you don’t need to have your pc running. IAX, a protocol used by the software Asterisk(.org), used to be supported but will be disabled soon.
So it works like a snowball system: once a certain amount of users have made their deposit, the country most called for free is not free anymore, but a new site is opened, where that country can be called for free, so users migrate there and make another deposit. Of course, this is only my assumption, I have no proof and might be totally wrong.
But there is another big advantage: voipbuster and sipdiscount both hand out regular landline phone numbers at no charge in various countries! So if you have friends in e.g. Germany and you are from the US: Sign up and pretend to be german (address etc) and you will get a german phone #.
Skype is different: they only allow their software to be connected to their network, no sip hardware allowed and therefore less conveniend for users(Closed-Source-Software, proprietary)
Installed, made account. I live in UK and have made calls to other UK landlines for free without any time restriction. This is great. I’m gonna use it whilst it lasts.
VoipStunt free calls my ass!!!!
Bought Euro10 credit, tried making free calls, and guess…
Not worth the try.
Clients loggs off and reloggin automatically, that is you loose the call. The longest call: 3 minutes.
It ussually loggs off after 40 secs to 2 minutes.
No conversation is possible since you spend 20 secs trying to make the other party understand that there is a 2-3 seconds delay!
So, VoipStunt, YOU SUCK!!!
I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! (Like that is going to happen…Yeah right)
Looks like some people is making easy money here
Bought Euro10 credit, but the money isn’t added to my account.
Write to VoipStunt, but no reaction…
This sucks.
hello all,
for your information
voipstunt calls are no more free…………..
its all a trap. after using for one month it is saying now fair used policy exceeded and charging minimum 1 cent for every call.
this charge will be implemented after some calls done by a user.
may be they have kept a limit for free calls…. after this limit they are charging.
its all for your information.
in future you all will become victims of voipstunt but not users of voipstunt
I install the free VoipStunt, make about 8 phone calls, guess what, it says I have reach my maximum trial calls (which should be 30), please buy credit, — it also noted it is deposit into account…. after a google serach, I decided NOT to buy any credit.
Hey this guys are a bunch of cocksuckers, but they are still cheaper than all the other options and they know it…If you are calling overseas a lot it is worth it…otherwise they will screw you…sideways.
P.S. Have used Voip stunt and Voipdiscount and have left 10 Euros on both sites, but all together have talked for over 5 hours all up on each site before they changed my calling country from free to 1 Eurocent…Still worth it…
I’ve just tried VoipStunt and it wasn’t as bad as others would have you believe. I’ve blogged a full review, and was happy to be able to call so many countries for free, with no obligation to buy credits. The downside was unclear voice quality and a 30 minute time limit on calls.
Why VoipStunt can give also to R.D.Congo africa free call? or reduce
the cost it is very expencevie to call there. And they are many clients who call there and Africa countries, Kinshasa, lagos etc…
try to think about that
calling my dad
VoipStunt only allows 5 minute calls to USA…I dunno abt the other countries. But this is a prob. Is there a patch or sthn to extend the time.?
