there will be an exe in the same directory as the file you dragged into terminal. drag that file into terminal also

I apologize for my ignorance on this whole problem here but I am new to macs and I have just tried to install this program here but i have no idea what this keygen_macosx file is, where do i find this file to drag in?

To answer Kal’s question when he/she keeps getting the “permission denied”.

Here’s what I found to work:

1) Open Terminal
2) Type in “chmod +x” HIT SPACE, then drag the keygen_macosx file in, “hit RETURN”
3)Now the file should be in exec format.
4)Drag the file in to the terminal again, without typing anything else. “HIT RETURN”
5)Voila! the serial should be there.

1.) Open Terminal
2.) type in: “chmod +x”
3.) Drag in the “keygen_macosx”
4.) Hit Return
4.a.) The keygen_macosx file’s suffix changes into “exec” (you will see this in the Preview in Finder.)
5.) Again drag the (new) “keygen_macosx” into terminal.
6.) Boom! You’ll see the serial number of VMware fusion.

Yeah i really have no idea how to work the keygen either. i tried the terminal a little but i dont know how to use it too much. someone said drag and drop the keygen file onto the terminal and hit return but it just gives me a permission denied like dragonmoony said.
any help would b great thanks

open terminal, enter chmod +x keygen_macosx and then .\something but then it wont work, it says : some stuff with permission of acces denied or not found and stuff… please tell me: dragonmoony@yahoo.com

Doogler i have the same problem, can’t get the Serial to work. I put chmod by itself and it did something, then it asks to enter the file, and i dont know what to do then.

I’ve been using VMware Fusion since the first torrent came out. There really isn’t anything under Windows that needs the ‘full power’ of my PC as there are Mac versions for anything I need. The only exception to that was EVE Online and they just came out with a Mac version (sorta… it uses Cider which is like Cedega so there’s emulation going on) so I don’t need Bootcamp anymore.

The only reason I even need VMware is so I can run the Windows version of MS Office (sometimes powerpoints don’t look right in the MS Office for Mac (stupid MS a$$h0l3s) or, more importantly, there are some VMs I have that I can now run on my Mac.

And that’s the best reason for VMware on the Mac — you can run the same VMs others might use on their Window or Linux versions of VMware.

i can’t get the keygen to work. typed”chmod +x keygen_macosx”into terminal and get No such file or directory
