wow. All this "vista sucks cos no drivers" blah blah blah

Does noone remember the problems XP had when it first came out?? Its a new programme for chrisssake. *Most* hardware runs (at least in part) with the generic vista drivers now anyway. The SP1 will address most of the known issues its been having, and it appeared stable even in Beta form. (Hubby is a beta tester, we've been testing vista since its first Beta couple years ago)

It baffles me the amount of Vista Haters, or Non-vista users who feel that they MUST post in a vista thread. Can't see the logic in that one.

yeah vista sux..but don't forget When XP released...everyone said that 98 is much faster..and now the same case is with vista...and people also upgraded their pcs for xp that time sooner or later. So in near future everyone will hav to use vista. And i'll start using it after vista sp2 and when all my fav softwarez get ready for vista.....till that time XP is KING!!!!!!!

Heh...Linux...FYI, I did try to go Linux about 2 months ago. I thought Id see why everybody is always raving about how cool it is. Unfortunately, the process for updating graphics drivers alone, which takes about 5 minutes on Windows, took me around 5 hours to figure out on Linux with the backing of some 30 forums and support sites. Even after getting them installed properly (which I DID get them installed properly), Linux wouldnt load the graphical GUI...which kinda defeats the purpose...Linux may be all-that-and-then-some if you already know EXACTLY how to run it in a professional way. Otherwise, STFU...Ill move over to Linux the day Winux is made!

Vista is great, but it isnt worth buying, IMO. That said, Im running Vista x64 and I love it. Plenty of features to keep me happy, and even though it is a resource hog, I think anybody with a half decent computer should be fine...So please, spare us your pathetic attacks on Vista...and dont install SP1 until its official release, or you will be classified as an idiot by the general population...

Xp is twice faster then Vista, and it doesn't bring any good improvements at all. if you keep Vista and Xp on your Hard Drive you can probably realize.

No matter of Good Computer or not, you can't but a OS for a new transparent interface.

All you lot who complain about problems with Vista make me laugh. I've been running it for a good 6 months now, and I do a lot with my sucky pc including gaming, video editing, 3d animating etc and I have absolutely no problems. Drivers are all good, no crashes, no problems.

You all sound like a bunch of whining 12yo's cos mummy or daddy won't give you their hard earned dosh to build a decent PC... lol

Oh and for the fools who keep saying your computer sux or get a better computer: you're EXACTLY the kind of fools m$/intel and co loves. Because you're easily parted with your money and happy to pay more and more money for less and less performance and return. You know what they say about fools and their money.

Vista is okay, i like it for the visuals... if you complain about UAC or incompatible drivers, you really shouldn't, what else would you expect when using new software... buy a car once they revamp the model and wait for the bad reviews to come in only to be fixed by later models... the P4 was the worst chip from intel, Some P3's beat it in benchmarks, so dood, you got to upgrade. unless you buy random cheap hardware, all major manufactures (minus ATI, but come on, who uses ATI) have working drivers. they may not be the best, but they are usable, which is the most important... i can't stand linux only because i can't use it, maybe that's how you vista haters are... it's not amazing, but come on, once you see how good it looks, could you really go back to XP easily... and for the guy with video problems, it's called codecs, you need them... vista had some problems in the very beginning but i get all my stuff to play... try VLC as well, small and easy player
