Venus LiMiTED DVDRip XviD-SAPHiRE
Guys from release group SAPHiRE brought us a nice dvdrip of drama Venus. This British movie has a lot to offer: it was nominated for Oscar and almost all reviews are very positive. The story is very specific and so is the way of telling it - Peter O’Toole in the main role gives a really impressive performance. English subtitles included.
Maurice and Ian are successful but aging actors, close friends whose conversation revolves around theatrical shop talk and the infirmities of septuagenarianism. Ian in particular is fearful that death is right around the corner, so he agrees to let his niece’s daughter Jessie move in to his flat to care for him. Jessie, a provincial girl in her early twenties, turns out to be a nightmare for Ian, a hard-drinking, rude, and dismissive twerp. But Maurice sees something else in the girl, a potential for humanity which blossoms under his kindness and gentle guidance. Something else blossoms, for Maurice, as well: romantic love for a girl fifty years younger. Surprises follow, all around.

seems to be a good film, but ill pass it for now
This is indeed one of the best of last year!
Not your teen comedy or action flick of choice, but one that reminds of alexander payne’s “about schmidt”, in tone and scope, but much darker in expression. Two thumbs WAY up for this one! BTW: O’Toole is magnificent! Forest Whitaker did famously last year, and that’s the only reason the “Lawrence of Arabia” didn’t get the OScar. Other then that, O\Toole remains in a league of his own indeed!

very entertaining and believable. not sure how much was acting and how much was real life for O’Toole.
highly recommend for mature audiences looking for substance and storyline and not a bunch of car chases and fisticuffs.
didn’t realize those old boys used such filthy language.

Picked this movie up on oscartorrents.com last year and it’s good, but I cant’s say it’s for everyone.
Main Characters:
Maurice: He can sense the Grim Reapers sickle at his neck.
Jessie: Young wild girl who’s only dream is to experience the world.
Quick Plot(NO SPOILERS HERE):
His friends are dying, his marriage is a joke, and so is his acting career. Jessie, a young girl, becomes the caretaker of Maurices’ best friend. Maurice and Jessie start to form a bond. She leads on Maurice, knowing that he is horny for her, in an attempt to get him to buy things for her. Maurice begins to fall in love with her. But more importantly he uses her to feel young again; she is his way of delaying death. Jessie befriends him only to use him, but slowly starts to care about him. The plot gets good once Jessie sees she can’t squeeze more out of Maurice. The movie is about two characters,one at the beginning of life and one at the end. It’s interesting to see how both worlds collide with each other and how they use each other.
