Ventrilo isn’t too popular application but that’s quite a shame because it works just great. It’s a VoIP client which allows you to chat with your friends – simply something as Skype. But it has some extra features which make this application favourite mainly in progaming. You can for example talk with tens of other people at once, not only single 1on1 calls. It has also much lower requirements on CPU and bandwith, which may be useful for users on little older PCs…
Ventrilo is the next evolutionary step of Voice over IP (VoIP) group communications software. Ventrilo is also the industry standard by which all others measure themselves as they attempt to imitate its features. By offering surround sound positioning and special sound effects on a per user, per channel, per server or global configuration level the program provides each user the option to fully customize exactly how they wish to hear sounds from other users or events.
Ventrilo is best known for it’s superior sound quality and minimal use of CPU resources so as not to interfere with day to day operations of the computer or during online game competitions. vent is free why do we need this if its not the server version?
Why is the headline 2.3.1 and later on they speak about 3.0.0 ?
And i think u only need this if u want make a server with more than 8 ppl.
yeah the client is free but if you want to setup a channel/server you need to have a full version and that’s where this release may become useful

Just downloaded it. It does seem to have a “srv” executable. Nice.

Just had a lookie on the vent offical website.. and the server version is free as well, so I am confused as to why there is a keygen.exe within this torrent. I’d be careful with this if anyone downs it

Ah XD I understand, i have my own 20slot one hosted for like £3 a month so dosent really bother me was just intrested as its a program i use a lot =D
This is really the best program out there for voice conversations over internet. I used teamspeak once upon a time, and I never will go back to ts when vent is around. I even use prefer this program over xbox live, meaning that when I play coop games with my friends we chat over vent instead. Simply because the sound quality is superior! (if the configuration is right of course)

it works just fine,i never tried out teamspeak though.
As noted the free version of the Client is fully functional but this release includes a cracked Server. The free Server only allows up to 8 connections, a cracked server removes this restriction.
It’s a shame that 3.0.x came out recently and this has only just hit us though, 2.3.x has been out for a very long time.
i think TeamSpeak is the best app for these things
Most european gamers use Vent, TS is popular in US.

With the release of this new version there is also a lot of cool new features, most of which teamspeak could only dream of having.
I use teamspeak and ventrilo almost every day and hate having to use teamspeak because generally it is half the quality of a ventrilo server. The only benefit of having a teamspeak server is that you would be able to buy a bigger server compared to ventrilo (probably because it is half the quality of a ventrilo server).

This cracked version allows for 1500 people to be connected, which is a lot more than the 8 allowed in the demo. A few months ago, ONY released a 17-man version of Ventrilo, but it seems Linezer0 has outdone them.

yea, it would have been more useful to crack the linux version, but anyway its nice to see someting like this. i’ve been using ventrilo since i started gaming which was round 03. TS is ok i guess, but vent has a more compact feel.

how the hell do you install this? Seriously.
If i try to run ventrilo-2.3.0-Windows-i386.exe nothing happens. Then if I to run ventrilo_srv-2.3.1-Windows.exe I get a Windows error ‘Crypted_PAINBOT.exe has crashed’ The only thing I see running when I try to run ventrilo_srv-2.3.1-Windows.exe is pci32b.exe What the hell is that? I see no interface at all when trying to run any of the exes.
Oh, and people stating the quality is better than Teamspeak…
The quality is the SAME. It just depends what codec the server or channel is using. You can change it to use the same codecs as Ventrilo if ya wish.

I have been using ventrilo past 5years. I’ve always liked it more than teamspeak. If you want to use ventrilo I prefer that you use “haxvent”. Its lightweight and it includes 3 versions of ventrilo + ts. Why do I like ventrilo? Its simple, easy to use, good voice quality (ofc, depending the server) but even in “bad servers” the voice quality is imho a lot better than in ts.

Ventrilo client has a banning check to test if the server is banned by ventrilo.

The advantage with Skype is that is has a verry short delay, while Ventrilo has like 1-2 sec delay. Ths can be too much when playing FPS.
P.S Skype can have groupcalls up to 5 users.
You cannot compare ventrilo and skype m8. Try playing games with skype on =D (fps drops like hell). And if server is good delay is only 0,5-1sec.

what do you think is better ts or vent? i mainly use ts and i can’t hear a big difference in the voice quality (ts at the highest settings). but the thing that bugs me the most in both programs is the delay. it’s just too slow if you play a game where you have to rely on fast reactions in team play. does anybody know a “multiuser” voice chat tool with a lower delay?

I maintain a bunch of Vent 2.3.1 and 3.0.0 for various gaming friends and I ONLY use the free clients.
Full Admin is available with just the free client.
Ventrillo is mainly used for gaming!! IE. Coutner Strike, COD, WOW, pretty much any game out there. Sure its now new, bu I can understand some people may not know about Vent, so it’s cool to post it.
While this is great, a unlocked version of the 3.0 server for Linux is more of wet dream for me that this.
Years ago I used to think that the posts accusing various cracks , hacks or keygens of having trojans, like the other posts rubbishing a particular gr8 app which had just been cracked, were like the abusive posts from greedy leeches, just industry plants trying to cause trouble. They aren’t, there actually are some people who just can’t conceive why anyone would do another a good turn for free or who delight in being as objectionable as possible whenever they find themselves in a time/space continuum (real or virtual) that appears even slightly ‘co-operative’.

LOL, are you insane, 1-2 second delay??? I have adminned ventrilo server’s for years. I have sat right next to a person who is on the same ventrilo as me, and the delay is less than 1 second. And before a stupid comment comes, “Well that person is next to you,” it doesn’t matter. Their info still gets sent to where ever the vent server is located and then I get the sound from the vent server.
If their is a 1-2 second elay on a ventrilo you use, tell your admin they f’ed up their configuration.
Even poor vent quality codecs have sounded better then ANY TS server I have ever been in. Vent FTW.

@33, got the same problem as you.
This pci32b.exe stays on windows… I think it’s one spyware. It was inclued on the windows start service too.
I just removed all. Trying Ad-Aware now to check it.

Got the same problem, firewall giving me notices about pci32b, after I allow nothing happens. I recommend doing a good system sweep of at least your bootdisk, bootsector and dir with the torrent files. HiJackThis helped me get rid of pci32b!
Ontopic, however the installer is dodgy the cracked exe seems to work. I pulled a 2.3.1 server (2.2.0 license) from some unofficial mirror, because Flagship only hosts the last one, installed it and put the exe on there – and when ran it showed 1500 slots max! I have yet to test it with 9+ clones but it’s a nice foresight.

DO NOT RUN THE INSTALL!! VIRUS!!! But the crack works. I ran it and connected 20 times. thats def over the 8 user limit/17 user crack limit. Have fun!
