Group REFiNED brings us the 720p rip of Vantage Point. I saw this movie some time ago and I liked it, maybe you also will like it!

President Ashton (William Hurt) is attending a global war on terror summit in Spain. Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) and Kent Taylor (Matthew Fox) are two of the Secret Service agents assigned to protect him. This is the first action that Agent Barnes has been in since he took a bullet for President Ashton six-month earlier. We really dont know if Agent Barnes is up to the challenge of protecting the President. Shortly after President Ashton is escorted to the stage in the plaza by the Secret Service, he is immediately shot twice by a rifle from a window and falls to the floor. The crowd is in shock and chaos breaks out all over, especially, when bombs begin to explode. Howard Lewis (Forest Whitaker) is an American video-taping the event to show to his children that he was actually there at this historic event. He believes that he has the picture of the man who shot the President. Agent Barnes sees the tape and has a clue to that person. Several different people witness the event, and only through their eyes do we see the truth behind the assassination attempt.

    If it’s a Chakra release there will probably be a file included called mkv2bluray… use it to convert the MKV to BD5 file structure.

    Then burn. Read the NFO for it as well…

    This movie was so lame. I actually had to stop watching it, and never finished it :( That ultra stupid pseudo-clever plot just sucked big time. But thanks for the post anyways, Nyr. :)

    The steps are all explained in the text file that comes with the download.
    However, DON’T change the default filenames, and it’ll all work smoothly - assuming you’ve got 9GB+ free disk space. (4.5 for the extract and another 4.5 for the BluRay image).

    And for all the people slagging off BD5/BD9, er - DON’T download it!! There’ll be another regular MKV along soon enough.
    These are for people who want to play the films on their BluRay player. Rather than constantly slag off the format, get over it and move on !

    @ 19: well there is a demand for it, so no surprise to see some groups releasing these.

    But i just don’t see why they’re still trying to be part of the MKV scene…
    Just stick to the BD5 tagging, remove the “x264″ in the release name to avoid confusion, put the rlz directly in ISO format and there you go!

    the MKV scene is well established, people will not download these rlz of subpar quality and always wait for the normal encode (apart for the ones who will download it by accident).

    or are just too proud to “leave” the prestigious mmkv scene ans become some niche groups? lol

    Forgot to mention - If you ARE planning on playing this on a BluRay player, you need the repack just issued.

    Repack Reason: Accidentally used 5 reference frames instead of 3 which breaks compliancy. If you have already leeched the previous release for PC playback don’t bother with the repack. However for standalone playback you will need it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    this is for the 12million people worldwide with a ps3 or bluray player. to the tw@s complaining about mounting this or not being able to play on a pc…fck off and get the mkv you idiots. this is not intended for pc use, you wouldnt be complaing that an xbox360 game doenst work on your pc so dont complain that a ps3 compatible video doesnt work on your pc either. theres plenty of groups releasing mkvs for the pc so theres no need to throw your rattle out of the pram and spoil it for the rest of us! i think the internet is plenty big enough for two versions of the same film.

    I don’t have any issues playing BD5/BD9 compliant movies on my PC, which by the way isn’t even all that powerful (ASUS P4P800-E, 2.66 GHz Northwood, 1 GB of memory, Nvidia 6800GT connected to 52″ 1080p TV via DVI to HDMI converter, Maxtor 300GB PATA HDD, onboard audio using digital coaxial out to Yamaha amp).

    If it is an BD5/BD9 ISO, I simply mount it with Daemon Tools (make sure UDF 2.5 driver is installed first) and extract the files within to hard drive. Then using Media Player Classic (with CoreAVC) I run the BDMV\STREAM0001.m2ts file (or whatever it’ named). If it’s in MKV, then nothing needs to be done as it’s all ready to watch as is.

    As far as I know, the only difference between the BD5/BD9 ISO or MKV designed for conversion to BD5/BD9 ISO is that the horizontal black bars at the top and bottom of the picture (which only happens when the movie is wider than 16:9) are part of the encode, while a regular MKV release does not have those black bars as part of the encode. Even if the film is wider than 16:9, the end result with either method of encoding should look exactly the same on screen, and there shouldn’t be any difference quality or resolution-wise with the actual active picture area between the two.

    Please correct me if I am wrong please, as I’d like to be informed if I am.

    I’m new to the whole torrent scene.. After reading the responses this file is only valid for a PS3 and not for a computer? My computer does have an HD vid card but not a blu-ray player.. Am I supposed to be looking for something called MKV for HD movies on pc? I’m so lost.. I don’t see a readme file in the folder either.

    I do have a PS3 if that would be easier to use.. Do I use the PS3 internet to download this torrent file? Never tried using my PS3 for anything other than playing movies and video games, lol.
