VA – Old School Hip Hop Jams (2007)

I understand not everyone is into house or trance these days, so this album will be targeted for those of you who don’t say a sentence without “peace nigga”. Yeah, Old School Hip Hop Jams offers a 2 CD look back in 1990s, where hip hop sounded little different than today. Don’t expect Kanye or Fifty on this compilation, but rather legends like NWA, Ice Cube or House of Pain.

The album is due October 30 in the real world, so you get it with a nice advance as well.

This is not old school hip hop. This is late 80’s early 90’s (with one exception).

Back when rap wasn’t the recycled, rehashed bag of crap that is it now. The really sad thing, is I bet most of the people that still listen to the genre today, haven’t heard the majority of these songs.

I’m not dissing anyone’s use of English on here – I know how hard it can be to use forums in another language – but the typo mistake of “rapers” instead of “rappers” by #6 did make me chuckle…

huh?! If this is old school hip hop, which most people brag about being the real thing, I think I’ll stick to rock/metal n trance/electronica :)

Judging by the comments, its not. So I’ll try some real rap :D
