VA-Cafe Del Mar Vol 14-2CD (2007)
Here’s some music i’ve noticed that had lots of people downloading so i decided to post it here, though i don’t what kind of music it is (probably electronic, not sure) but maybe someone here has bought one of the previous volumes and could tell us something bout it.
Café del Mar is a bar located in San Antonio, Ibiza. It is a popular summer tourist destination, noted for its view of the local sunset. Café del Mar is the original “the sunset bar” in San Antonio opened by Ramón Guiral, Carlos Andrea, and José Les in 1978.
Part of watching the sunset is the music, described as ambient, easy listening music. The bar originally sold their own tapes of the music but a series of Café del Mar CDs have been sold. As of 2006, there are 13 volumes, numerous side compilations, plus 2 albums commemorating the 20th and 25th Anniversary. A total of about 9 million albums have been sold worldwide. The original first six volumes’ tracklists were selected by José Padilla, a DJ then commonly found at the Café del Mar.
In the summer of 2005 Café del Mar celebrated their 25th Anniversary with a special album and a festival on a big stage in front of the sea. Four Café del Mar artists were invited to play live at the festival: D.A.B. (Spain), Tom Oliver (Germany, also on the 25th Anniversary CD), Paco Fernandez (Spain) and La Caina (France).

VA – Ibiza Chill Session 2007 Is also a amazing album, I was listening to it this morning and woah, its very good. You guys might want to post a torrent link for this one too. You will not be disappointed. One of the tracks also sounds like a song from miami vice, very cool.

Café del Mar is one of the finest Ambient / Chill-Out / Relaxation compilations on the planet. You hear the songs in hundreds of movies, thousands of bars and millions of MP3 players (I like this analogy).
Seriously: Café del Mar is THE chill out music. Driving towards the sunset with Rue de Soleil playing or just hopping through the 20th Anniversary Edition – a dream!

im glad to see -UNiT releasing such a big hit. i was a member in that grp some years ago, and their mp3 releasing section was a little weak.

One thing about this release though: What’s going on with their CD Cover/Back etc. They took the picture like with a camera phone and put a handwritten paper beneath it saying “UNIT”. I guess they wanted to watermark the pictures in some way, but seriously: covers unusable!

Cafe Del Mar, Sea Cafe or Cafe of the Sea… Mar also means Ocean… excellent series…. easy on the ears…. laid back… mellow out type music.
The best chill/ambient I must say is Zen & the Art of Chilling Vol. 1 and Vol. 2
