its only a 3.77 MB file. Relax.
I was actually looking for a similar program just yesterday. I ended up settling for Unlocker in the meantime. Thanks for posting this! A timely release indeed. I'll definitely try this one out.

Crack not working in Vista Ultimate 32bit…
[The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application.]
This is a POS which does not work, just as Vista User said.
Crack doesn't work in SP3 either..
Okay, I had two options:
1. Use a serial which expires on Dec. 2009 (version 4.0.9.760)
2. Or use an older version with a working crack (version 4.0.8.758)
I chose the latter.
In case you choose #1:
name: VlaDimir vladimirOWich Nikitin
serial: DC2NXC-CVPHB-VJUW6-BV47U-UQWQG
In case you choose #2:
- Install USB Safely Remove 4.0.8.758

- Download at your own risk! Scan files or use Sandboxie (for 32-bit users) to make sure.

wow, ive never had any problems just yanking the thing out…
you guys seriously need this???
darn straight we do. i work at a computer shop and spend all day connecting and disconnecting usb devices - 99% of the time yanking it out doesn't matter…but do it enough and you will eventually end up with corruption and data loss or a ruined device.
so USB Safely Remove v4.0.9.760-NoPE is nuked…
use this. it works fine!
this is the official setup with a working serial

USB Disk Ejector + Unlocker (When files / folders are locked) = Winner
Anyone? They're free, and much better I think. Please say what you think.
P.S. USB Disk Ejector Options… Start with Windows, Minimize the program after successful ejection, close to tray, start the program minimized…etc
works great for me running tiny xp rev6 SP2
doesn't work with server 2003 Damn
@Andrew,
I would consider USB Disk Ejector if it works for Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit as well. I don't think it supports 64-bit systems like USB Safely Remove does. USB Safely Remove officially supports 64-bit Vista.
i got mine when it was a free giveaway.
http://safelyremove.com/giveawayweekp.htm
i have since removed it cause i hardly ever used it and it started processes running at windows start.
I'm currently using usb disk ejector as one of my quick shortcuts but "Program autorun on device connection\disconnection" sounds interesting, so i'll give this a try.
This is, without a doubt, the most useless peice of sh!t software ever created.
"Hiding of “empty” card reader drives Card reader memory cards ejection one-by-one Returning just stopped device back!"
This could be the most beautifully-written piece of text I've ever read.

I think people are a bit harsh about this application… This is something that should have been built into windows in the first place by the way.
The "stop the device safely" feature of windows does only work if all explorer windows and applications accessing the drive is closed… but it assumes you know which ones that is. If you've ever seen a "novice" computer user try to figure that out which apps has to be closed for it to work you know why this application has it's users.
