Update: New comments on RLSLOG

6c27512c34ab4affde6861ef360ef0bd.jpg (490×216)

As you probably know, we had some major changes recently regarding links and comments on RLSLOG. Posting links in comments became forbidden and we also post only Google links on all TV/Movie posts due to certain legal issues. Now we decided to change this a bit: after 1 week or so we listened to your responses on our Facebook page and now we introduce new solution which should make the majority of our visitors happy again.

Starting from now, posting links in comments is again allowed on all posts except of TV/Movie categories.

The second news is that we installed new comment system on RLSLOG for all posts in TV/Movie categories. It’s called Disqus and you might have experienced it at many other websites which use this platform. Disqus requires certain registration or username, which can be also your Google or Facebook account. Of course you can register a new account if you don’t want to use any of those. The same limitations like before still apply for TV/Movie posts, which means posting download links in these categories is forbidden. With this new platform, it will be much easier for us to monitor, blacklist and moderate the comments and eventually ban all users who would disobey this rule.

We believe that with this new settings, we allow users to post their links in comments and also comment about the release and its quality in case of TV/Movie posts.

We hope you will stay loyal with us and keep RLSLOG the first and the biggest release blog online.

Feel free to post your Update: New comments on RLSLOG torrent, subtitles, samples, free download, quality, NFO, rapidshare, depositfiles,, rapidgator, filefactory, netload, crack, serial, keygen, requirements or whatever-related comments here. Don't be rude (permban), use only English, don't go offtopic and read FAQ before asking a question. Owners of this website aren't responsible for content of comments.

Whose afraid of the MPAA? Rlslog! Lame guys.

“This decision was done to comply with request of legal company representing major Hollywood film studios and companies.”

Your not American or hosted in America… right? So why selfcensor when you know it’s only going to invite other trade groups to request the same? Eventually you end up with nothing.

“We hope you will stay loyal with us”

How backwards is that? What would we stay for then? Movies and TV was by far the biggest draw.

“and keep RLSLOG the first and the biggest “release blog online.”

    Not for long am afraid.

Agreed. If you’re not hosted or based in America, why adhere to a judgement which doesn’t concern you? RLSLOG used to be my first stop for downloads but is fast fading into obscurity. Don’t let it happen!

You mean the comments will now be worth looking at?

  7. Tim
    February 20th, 2013 | 18:03

    I totally agree with “sigh”!

What i really don’t understand is why there’s any problem with posting links to TV programs!? I could have watched the program for free on TV, but if i missed it when it was aired, and want to download it, that is illegal?? Why?!

Because Wiggin LLC are taking a different approach. Rather than threatening everyone to ‘shut down or else’ (cease and desist notifications), they’re instead making people offers: \Do XYZ and we’ll leave you alone to keep your site open without litigation\. After all, Martin and others realise making less money is better than making no money and having tons of legal fees to pay defending yourself.

They also used another smart tactic to shut down NZBMATRIX without actually demanding they shut down. Instead they flooded them with so many DMCA notices (and implied they would keep sending more) that NZBMATRIX simply couldn’t keep up.

Unfortunately these guys are really good at their job and are probably going to neuter many more sites by using such unorthodox tactics, instead of just direct threats and C&D’s (which people are use to and know how to defend against). :(

You realise it still says you can post links? Pretty engrishy but you might want to change it to “dont post links” lol

Kinda like this. Less spam bots and fools with crap links.
Also means we can get feedback about releases from people who have downloaded already ie. Crack not working etc. Like in the old days.

Sickbeard and Coachpotatoe handle my movies and shows. Games and music Ill get from the site

  11. SoToBeClear
    February 20th, 2013 | 18:21

So to be clear, you’re keeping the posting of the the most popular sections and most profitable links for yourself again.
And other users can post links for music, software etc using a name that can be traced via facebook or Google, both of which hand over peoples ip’s and data when requested.
And why persevere with the lie about legal threats, i’ve had them and they give you no option other than to take down all posts instantly.

this makes no sense, you went from a comment system that didnt allow links in movies and tv to one where links are allowed but you have to police and ban people posting links

  14. Dumbasses
    February 20th, 2013 | 18:31

Why do you need links? I just use this site to find out when releases happen and the name of the release then I search for it on torrent site or elsewhere. Why do you actually need links when most of them are either paid fileshare sites or are fake links.

    Don’t be dumbasses :)

I love this site. I agree with Camron, I also like this change, maybe comment section will finally be useful. I didn’t use the links in the comments that often anyway, there are many ways you can dl things quicker than 50kbs.

Are you really asking us to put our private data linked to a download… why are/would you be asking people to do this … if you even cared one bit about your fan base you will delete this rubbish that you just posted and prevent everyone from getting in trouble… this has got to be the dirtiest way to pass the heat onto your fan base…

i have just lost all faith i once had in this busted up falling down website… d

No matter who they stop from posting links or uploading “copyrighted” files, they’ll eventually realize it’s as futile as strangling water with a net.

    February 20th, 2013 | 19:51

Well i dont know about anyone else but im confused now, can i post links but get banned? or what?!?

Make your damn minds up and either say yes to all or become an info only site. There are loads of other sites that post links in their comments personally i’ve gone back to IRC as i did back in the late 90′s and usually get to see stuff before its posted on here.

  21. A.Bundy
    February 20th, 2013 | 20:24

agreed on using disqus. much simpler this way since the user has to register, thus reducing spam like those fidiots that post super obvious fake links to generate cash.

  22. Tup
    February 20th, 2013 | 20:34

I also agree with “sigh”. Not only for the reasons mentioned but the fact you guys can’t make up your mind. I use to use the links provided by posters back in the day, then TPB got more secure and now I just scan the pages here for new releases daily and DL them via TPB. So when you banned comments wasn’t a big deal. Now you say that you’re back but a neutered version of once you once were. Hard to retain an respect for you. :/

  23. neb
    February 20th, 2013 | 20:58

Most of the links were crap anyway. I only need to be informed about a release. I don’t need filehost links because I never use them anyway to download big files such as movies.

  24. J3ff
    February 20th, 2013 | 20:59

Instead of watching on tv, downloading them is not the same. The companies and tv stations are making money from the commercials they air. When you download it and while you are watching it, are you stopping every 15 mins and watching a commercial :)

  25. David
    February 20th, 2013 | 21:03

I don’t get it, real easy for people to make fun at you, they are not the ones being threatened. I have used your site since the beginning, as an advisory, quality of copy or whether it works, then downloading from tpb. So thankyou for all the good stuff i have been able to procure all thanks to you.

Simple: link is not crime. Or is it?

    You shouldnt do that…

maybe google should delete all “bad” links from search results, because it is the same…

oh wait!..they cant..they make money on this throught ads…

nice example of “same rules for everyone”…

First you cave into the TV pressure.

Next you cave into the Movie pressure.

    Then the music pressure.

    Then software pressure.

And boom! No one goes to anymore!

Take a stand people, don’t let American Capitalist control your business!!!!

  34. ab
    February 20th, 2013 | 23:54

Interesting change of policy, but it’ll only be a matter of time before the music anti-p2p reps, publishing reps, video game reps, software reps etc., do exactly the same thing as the film & tv reps have done to you already. But hey, if this keeps you online for longer then so be it.

As I’ve said before, if you can’t find these new releases elsewhere on the internet, then you really should be buying your digital goods legitimately or visiting your local bootlegger.

How come you are allowed to post movie quality samples (ex. ts xvid samples) but not links to movies? Are they both not copyright infringement?

  36. anonym
    February 21st, 2013 | 01:10

    good riddance.

too many crap links and slow links that were used primarily to make a commission.

Everyone stopped uploading to quality servers.

Even worse were those hidden redirect links that just kept redirecting to more redirect links, and finally ending up on some bogus page.

Focck those people. Shut em down.

I agree with number 17!!!! Most people on here are probably intelligent enough to be able to read right through your b.s. about caring about us. Lets face it, it’s about making a profit for yourself. I also found your other b.s. very elegantly displayed about posting our FB account, like there’s no threat there to us by doing so.

RLS, you have broken a young man’s heart. Good bye.

    February 21st, 2013 | 13:46

I agree with a lot of the above comments. With no links what’s the point? If I want reviews on movies I can go to IMDB. This site used to be useful to me but turned to garbage when the file sharing sites like megaupload went down. I occasionally check to see if I missed any of the newer movie releases and retrieve them elsewhere but lately they have been nonexistant. For instance “Company of Heros” is all over the net but no mention of it here.
Like the man says, one less bookmark.

right, that was before its userbase became a bunch of whining noobs, who cant handle their own piracy.

congrats on finding a way to get comments back on track.
keep up the good work, RLSLOG!

I have rarely used download links posted on RLSLOG and like many of your regular visitors I come here for latest update on scene-releases.But what you have done now is completely unacceptable. After getting threat mails from Hollywood & Co. you recently decided to become a pure news site. That was fine by me as that keeps up with the spirit of Free Internet which promotes freedom of information & not profit-making.But suddenly you do a volte-face & decide to allow posting links, albeit, bringing the onus of “breaking the law” on your visitors and posters. And all this because you saw your fan base dwindling & seeing that you were soon going to make no “profits” from the site.
I understand you need money to run a site like this. And I guarantee you, you would still be making money through the clicks/page views of those visitors who come here for the NEWS.But this is now just profiteering!
Please take hard stand whether you want to be a full-fledged download site or a pure News site. You need to look up at TPB for inspiration, for the kind of iron-fisted resolve they have against Hollywood & DMCA threats. Most of us look up at RLSLOG along the lines of TPB & had faith that you wouldn’t waiver at the onslaught of threats from these greedy corporates. But now you have started proving us wrong.
Please,if you’re gonna do this, then DO IT RIGHT!!
