Unreported World Philipines Dirty War WS PDTV XviD-REMAX

This has been an unusually slow day in the scene with almost no interesting releases so we will post some interesting TV rips instead. A British scene group REMAX relased a PDTV rip of a documentary Philipines: Dirty War for the Unreproted World series (mind the typo in the name of the country, it should be Philippines). If you are into geography, politics and travelling, this could be interesting for you.

Unreported World travels to the Philippines where a war over control of the country’s resources is raging between rich and poor. On one side are the 135 families who hold economic and political power in the country, supported by the government and military, and on the other an armed rebel group. Caught in the middle are hundreds of students, activists and left-wing politicians who have been killed or disappeared without trace.

The Philippines is a great place. I just came back from there 2 weeks ago and miss it already (Subic Bay). I can not wait to see this. Lot of poor people living in the Philippines and I think everyone should see a 3rd world country like that. It really opens your eyes of what you have and what we take advantage of. The way some people live is horrible but yet they always have a smile on their face. Some of the nicest people you will ever meet, but there are a lot of bad ones also. I for one can not wait to retire there just to bad i have to wait another 30 years. Dam i want to live there now.

Well anyway thanks for this it is a great post and can not wait for the torrent. More about Philippines is welcome but not the made up crap about sex slavery. The news media really blow it out of proportion. I been there 3 years in a roll and never seen any kind of trafficking, but in the news they claim it is on every corner.

To shawnshx, thank you for the kind words. From a Filipino like me, I appreciate the sentiment.

I agree with shawnshx, my wife is a filipina, i’ve been many times, the the media just keep making the same old document ires on either the sex trade or terrorists, showing only the bad side, many fantastic places to go and see, and most are decent people.

so to those out there, see for yourself, book your next hol there and see for yourself, and i’m pretty sure you’ll go back again and again :o )

I was a sailor and travelled there many times. And truthfully the people there are splendid. Always happy, very religious, mostly truthful. Sure there were some bad, but we have that in all societies. A truly picturesque country to visit. My fried and I were approached by an oil company to work offshore there. He took the bait and still enjoys it. He lives full time there now and will never return. Many of the merchant ships in the world have Philippino crew supporting families back home. They are good sailors working for little pay. One of the better countries to visit or stay forever.

@13 mikey Wish i could find an oil company to work for there. I been working in the oil field for 12 years out in the gulf of mexico. I look every trip for oil companies in the philippines but never found one. I am sure they do not pay as much here since most people there make only $4 a day on a good day. Yes that is only 4 dollars a day.

Overseas oil companies the ones i know about pay about $600 a day but have not found any around Philippines. Even Texaco does not have thing there that i have found. My dream is to live there but i need a lot more than 4 bucks a day. I am 33 so i have a way till retirement. If you have information about an oil company around there let me know thanks. I have to find a way to live there now.

The red honored flag is what terrifies the filippine capital and their american friends. The workwers from all over the world are proud for those who have the strengh to fight back the real terrorists, the filippine goverment and US administration. May the spark of this flame will burn the whole earth. Be careful workers of the world of their lies. They baptise as terrorist those who live in eternal poverty while they keep for themselves the world welth. We say those are the real terrorists, those who let the Banks take over your homes and your life… Those who holding down, in ingorance the US people by telling them cheap Goellist lies…

The Philippines has come a long way from the days of purely selfish intentions from politicians and public servants. There new breed seem to genuinely want to improve the country but only time will tell.

Crime has never been lower or higher, but the people are much more vocal and vigilant. There are special interest groups that would picket and rally about anything they can get their hands on.

Overall, amidst the negative publicity, these journalists go there for a reason. I’m sure they come back not for another scoop, but another glimpse of paradise set within the irony of human nature “Fight to gain peace, conquer to gain freedom”
