Simple cultural anthropology. Democracy is good for those that want it. We cant force that on anybody. Our freedoms are good only until we don’t encroach on other peoples freedom’s. The real problem isn’t the US military but the lack of interest by the US citizens to elect real leaders with more than one peanut as a brain.
The US has a two party system which isn’t the bases for a true democracy. The last time a non Republican party member or Democratic party member was president was in 1850 to 1854 but since then it’s been either one from just two sides.
The US system allows more parties to choose from as one can see around election time but none of those people are selected. Hell how many US citizens are actually voting? Large enough number of voters don’t vote because they believe nothing will change or they feel they simply have no choice between the extreme right wing or a bit more liberal right wing.
The leaders who really want to change things around are taken out of the game one way or the other. Either with cash incentives or mud throwing.
And if President Bush is so adamant in his war against terror then why aren’t other nations being invaded?
