Another classic game just got released: Unreal Tournament. Group REV0 (I never heard of it, but whatever) is the lucky group. This doesn’t really need info, but hey. Oh and yes guys, it’s Region-Free :D

    Not all true!

    PAL means to work on PAL machines… NTSC and PAL are different…. it’s not region free .. it’s kind of region free for PAL countries!!!

    Correct me if i’m wrong but in the past console made for JAPAN (NTSC-J) and North America where NTSC ONLY… no chip inside could do PAL to NTSC conversion…patching was required!

    I think it still the same thing today… unless the console is capable of doing PAL to NTSC conversion and vice versa!

    It’s the inverse … PAL to NTSC .. (50 fps to 60 fps) games will be faster by 17 % .. music will be increased also … gameplay too !!!

    It IS region free, it’s just a “PAL” source. There is such a thing as PAL60 which is PAL @ 60Hz. Almost all PAL games are PAL60 so companies stamp the same game on all DVD9’s and just label them PAL or NTSC as law requires them too. Some other region free games are: Lost Odyssey, DOA4, Alone in the Dark, GRID and LOADS more. These games are labeled as PAL/NTSC but DO play on any console. I own a bunch of “NTSC” games but play fine on my PAL 360. The consoles ARE region locked, the DVD firmware is.

    And Editor, how can you not have heard about UT? It’s just one of THE defining Multiplayer FPS games EVER, apart from Counter Strike. UT, UT2k3, UT2k7 and now UT3. Do your research you 15 year old.

    First Unreal cannot be compared to the 2004 and UT3 versions because it was a single player game. Not a multiplayergame. And for the multiplayer releases THIS ONE IS THE BEST JUMP AND SHOOT MULTIPLAYER THERE IS !!!

    I’m not a 360 owner but I’m curious to know which of the most popular mods currently available on the PC & PS3 Epic have made available in this release.

    I would also like to know what the native resolution of this game is. The size of the PC DVD without the Epic released DLC is 6.86GB. In the interviews, Mark Rein stress that the 360 version had to be heavily optimized to get everything on the disc but he didn’t go into any further details, so something had to take a hit if all of this data is on the disc, and my guess would be the graphics. Have they gone below the 1280×720p resolution like CoD4 (600p) and Halo3 (640p)?

    Um, how is any of the information I posted wrong? I’ve read loads about NTSC and PAL because I’ve had problems with my capture card and I like to know the facts instead of blowing hot air and lies.

    Dont play this game online until its released… make sure you have flashed your dvd drive with latest firmware and STEALTH!! if you play online you should be ok… just dont play games BEFORE they are released ONLINE… also i believe it is the CONSOLE that gets banned not your profile…

    For all the x360 haters … only the xbox 360 and Wii can play backups. So there :p

    The day the PS3 can play backups (which most probably will be off the HDD ala PSP) then you’ll see scene releases. Sony learnt from the PS2 and PSP and how quickly it took to crack it.

    Many hack/crack/scene groups have tried and failed so far with the PS3. If it wasn’t for the firmware hack on both the Wii and 360, we wouldn’t be able to play pirated games. Be grateful :)

    I have this game on PC, so won’t bother with the 360 version.

    NFL_Madden_2007_USA_BLURAY_DIRFIX_PS3-PARADOX

    was the first release, 2006-25-11 – 25th november 2006.

    Ridge_Racer_7_NTSC_PS3BD-SCE and Ridge.Racer.7.PS3.BD.USA-DANAROX came a few days later.

    True you can’t play them, but they are still being release; Nascar.09.EUR.PS3-NextLevel came out today in fact.

    UT3 came out at a bad time. I think it was 1 of 5 fps to get released within a month of each other. The article (from the quick glaze over I gave it) didn’t mention that keyboard and mouse is also available on the PS3 version. The PS3 version sold way more than it did on the PC but UT3 has stiff competition, mainly from CoD4 (PC/PS3/360), UT2k4 and CS1.6/CS:S (PC) as far as FPS’s go.

    I think UT3 will do well on the 360 for a while, but without user created content, the game quickly gets boring. UT99 and UT2k4 or even the CS series couldn’t have survived for so long without user created mods/maps/skins/models etc. Personally I prefer UT2k4 but UT3 did feel more like UT99 with great graphics.

    The security on the PS3 piddles all over what’s on the PSP (as you pointed out). All updates are mandatory (net connected consoles), so when a new firmware update is detected, the PS3 will not sign you into the PSN until it is installed, disabling all internet related features. I think that cracking the firmware will be very hard to do and Sony will not hesitate to MAC ban anyone.

    just for the record i like the 360 posts, thats like complaining when they release mac software or because they released a action movie when you only like girly romances. im getting ready to flash my other 360 so i can play games. also, on a side note, i thought you could get banned just for flashing, that they could tell, im not current on my facts, but i know people before that got banned and never played a burned game online.

    I don’t think it would be a good idea to try playing this on live. Just be a good boy and wait till after it’s proper release date. I know it’s more fun online but this is where you have to be a grown up and wait! Nothing is worth losing live over ;)
