SKIDROW group has released Gold Edition of “UFO Extraterrestrials” game.

Description: UFO: Extraterrestrials GOLD is a new GOLD edition which includes a number of changes and improvements giving a player a new look on the classic game: new maps, possibility to hire soldiers, globe UFO swarms and configurability. UFO: Extraterrestrials GOLD represents fiction in which the human race faces a threat from space, aimed to be a spiritual sequel developed by Chaos Concept. The game picks up where the original left off, incorporating a twist of the aliens defeating Earth. The game is set on a newly colonized planet named Esperanza, where the alien threat has just arrived.

New items to research and produce:

  • Autoguided Rocket Launcher with ballistic ammo

    If you are fan of the Xcom series you will love this game.

    Not sure how good this Gold version is though. I have the original release and several fan-made mods do exactly what the Gold edition is supposed to do. I wonder if they just re-released it with fan mods.

    I have 2 questions for those who played this game and the original UFO/XCom. Is auto shot still the best shot in the game? Also is the psi amp still the most overpowered weapon ever? XCom/UFO vets will know what I am talking about.

    @ 15 Amora:

    Autoshot is only good when you are very close to the enemy. Even when you fire on Auto sometimes the enemy gets to take a reaction shot.

    They don’t have psi amp in the game.

    The original is still a better game. I tried this game when it first came out, it is the best reproduction of the original “UFO: Enemy Unknown” game but there is no destructible terrain which is a bit of a let down I liked shooting through walls and blowing up buildings.

    I also like the way the original AI worked, it seemed like the aliens had a personality hiding behind stuff and popping out and headshotting your team. Oh and the infamous alien grenade chucked in the skyranger on turn 2 and you don’t know where is came from.

    It made me laugh.

    @ horsemeat: Not sure what game you are playing but the walls are destructible. Of course some very thick metal walls aren’t (specially if alien made) but you can usually blast a hole in a wall if you want a new door.

    how can i use these stimpacks?? have no idea
    tried to take them in in one hand, but i can only throw them away?!

    the cursor in the game feels a little bit laggy and unprecious

    but the game rocks, played x-com terror from the deep years ago and this game gives me that good old vintage feeling
